Sophie followed the waitress watching her as she gave them a look and smiled probably assuming they were a couple or something. She shrugged it off but was thankful she gave them a booth pretty much away from everyone else. "Alright, but I say I'm buying next time." she told him pulling away taking a seat in the booth.

"So do you like Tidewater so far?" Carly asked curiously as she followed him over to the bench. She watched him take a seat on the ground but decided against it herself, plopping down onto the bench near him and pulling her legs up in front of her. "I mean, I bet it's a lot to get used to."

Jake sat across from her, leaning back. "A gentleman never let's a woman pay for their meal." he said with a smile, "If my Pa heard that I let a girl pay for our food he would tan my hide."
"Despite that blog I like it, it's a nice change from the country side." Reed replied, stretching and crossing his arms behind his head, closing his eyes. "Though, our home was close to the beach too. It's a lot more relaxing here. How long have you been going to this school?"

Sophie took a sip of her water giggling, "Tan your hid? I think there should be a dictionary of the things you say." She said playing with the napkin, "Well alright I'll find something to pay you back. I just need to think about it." She said looking over the menu. "The burgers here are really good. I had one last time I was here." She said licking her lips as she read the food not realizing how hungry she really was.

Jake laughed softly "Sorry, I like to talk with country slang. Do they have barbeque here?" he asked as he glanced through the menu, not really wanting to read any of it.

Carly nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that's the first I've seen of that stupid blog," she said, wrapping her arms around her legs. She smiled down at him. "You think it's more relaxing here than in the country? I've lived near here my whole life, so I've actually been going to Tidewater since my freshman year. I'm a senior now."

Reed nodded curiously, "I'm a senior too, Jake and I decided to come here just for a change since we've lived in the same place all our lives, though we'll be taking trips back to compete in the rodeos. Yeah, some how I like it here better than the country, it's busy but not too busy, if that makes any sense." he frowned slightly, hoping that he wasn't sounding like an idiot, this was the first time he was talking to someone without his brother being around to correct him or speak for him.

"Makes sense to me," Carly said with a nod in agreement. Tidewater did have its drama, especially with this weird new blog causing sure to cause trouble with the students and teachers. But it was a beautiful lazy campus, and it really did a good job of feeling like home, not just some boarding school people got thrown into. She wasn't sure if it would make sense if she said it out loud, but it made sense in her head. "I think I'd like to go to a rodeo one day," she said thoughtfully, tugging at a strand of blonde hair that seemed persistent on sticking out from her head, "I mean, you make it sound like it's really fun, and I'm kind of curious."

Sophie nodded showing him some of the stuff they had barbecued. She sipped some of her water smiling a bit as her leg brushed up against his. "So how do you like the school here so far?" She asked him closing her menu.

Reed grinned, "I may be biased, but Rodeo's are a blast. There's always something happening and a lot of good smells....well unless you get a whiff of horse shit." he wrinkled his nose, then pulled out his phone and searched for the blog, copying down the url and sending it to Jake.
"Damn, steak sounds good right now." he mused, then looked at Sophie, "It's alright, though I only went a long with going here because of Reed." he frowned when he felt his phone buzz, meaning he got a text. "Sorry for being rude, but I should check this, it's probably from Reed." he took out his phone and checked it, soon going onto the blog and skimming through the articles, his eyes going wide. "Holy shit..." he muttered, reading the article about Sophie and Mr. Black.

Carly's nose mimicked his, wrinkling in disgust. "Yeah, I was hoping you weren't classifying horse shit as a good smell," she said with a laugh, shaking her head, "I've never personally had the pleasure of smelling it, because I've never actually been around a horse. But I imagine I wouldn't call it a good smell either." She glanced curiously down at his phone and immediately felt bad for being nosy, but she recognized the slightly familiar layout of the Shark Tank. "You should see some of the other things they've posted, besides just the hot or not lists. We got off easy."

Sophie nodded and placed her order of food looking at him as he stared at his phone. "What? Is something wrong?" She asked a bit concerned. "Is your brother okay?"

Reed looked up at Carly, not caring if she looked at at what he was doing or not. "From what I can see by the titles, we really did get off easy." he took off his hat and rested it on the bench next to her then ran his hand through his hair. "This thing is just crazy...they better not mention my brother again." he narrowed his eyes.
Jake glanced up at the waitress, giving his order and when she was gone slid is phone over to Sophie, the article about her and Mr. Black pulled up. "Read this." he said, his voice without emotion.

Sophie placed her order as well before looking down at his phone and reading the blog. Her mouth basically dropped when she read what was said about her, "This isn't true! I've never smoked that stuff in my life and I don't even think of that of the teacher! What the hell?!" She said fuming now. "This is absolute rubbish!"

Jake looked at Sophie, rubbing his forehead, "Then where the hell did all this stuff come from?" he asked, "is this school all about gossip? Apparently I'm on the 'Not List' for being too over protective? This is just ridiculous."

"I don't know someone who doesn't have anything better to do." Sophie said frowning reading the other blog posts. "I don't think any of this is true it's really someone who doesn't have anything better to." She said giving him his phone back.

Jake took his phone and nodded. "Why would they choose to write about us though? Me and my brother have only been here for two days, but apparently we do enough to gain attention I guess."

"But I didn't do anything but go to a party." Sophie said rolling her eyes. "It's stupid...whatever." She said rubbing the back of her neck smiling lightly to him. "Well I think you're cute so that's all that matters." She teased him.

Jake blinked in surprise and chuckled. "Thanks darlin', you're pretty cute too." he relaxed and ate when their food came, "Aww yeah, I love steak." he grinned and took a bite of good and smiled, "It's good, not as great as my Pa's though, but pretty good. So, you party?" he asked.

Sophie smiles and started to eat her food when it came. "I'll have to try your fathers steak sometime." She said nodding. "Yeah kind of but not really. Only if it's like a good party, the one I just went to was a college frat party. Bumped into my sister thought so she was being all annoying." She said laughing slightly.
