Sophie sat under a tree with her school work biting on the tip of her pen, a bad habit as she day dreamed looking around campus. She didn't want to do this homework, and her mind clearly wasn't letting her either. She sighed putting her stuff back in her bag thinking that she might as well do it later. She had her hair down that day, her natural wavy hair and was wearing skinny jeans with a short-sleeved shirt on. The weather here was a lot warmer than any time in England, she liked it a lot. She also missed him as well but when she thought about it for a while she really didn't. Taking a sip of her water, Sophie ran her hand through her hair and pulled out her phone texting, and going on the social networking sites as usual.

Jake and Reed, twin brothers from the Southern tip of Texas, slowly left their dorm room, wandering outside. They both wore genuine Wrangler jeans, cow boy boots. but that's where their clothing choices differed. Jake wore a red and black button up shirt with a black cowboy hat while Reed wore a plain blue button up shirt and a white cowboy hate.
Jake rubbed his eyes tired, suffering from another night of no sleep, it seemed as if life away from home wasn't treating him too right, not being able to fall asleep from the lolling moo's of the cattle was taking its toll on him, it seemed like this country boy wasn't made for the city, but he was there for Reed, who had wanted to go to this school ever since he had heard of it. Tilting his hat back on his head, his blond locks brushing just above his dark blue eyes, he looked around curiously.
Reed couldn't help but grin, breathing in the fresh air. This place wasn't anywhere like home, but he still liked it, especially since he and his older brother got to bring along their trucks and their partners from the ranch, even though it had meant for the school to build a horse and bull pen out in the fields. He couldn't wait to go out to his bronco and practice some riding, sure classes were fun, but nothing could pull him away from something that had been with him since his childhood, despite the fact that it had almost killed him. His grin widened when he saw a group of girls, and looked at his older twin brother.
"Check out dem honey's." he said softly with his southern drawl.
Jake followed his gaze, chuckling softly, "They're right purdy bro, though they ain't anything like our country girls."
"Gotta keep our options open bro," Reed smiled, "gotta experience everything this place has to offer before goin' home, but we can't be whores."
That made Jake laugh and he nodded, "True little bro."
The two bumped fists and continued on their walk of the school campus, heading towards the tree's where they could sit and relax.

Carly, who was boredly kicking at the dirt with her brown booted toe, rolled her eyes at two guys walking past her. They were laughing about something, something about some "honey's." Boys. And who even said honey's? She squinted her eyes in the bright sun, her gaze following them as they made their way a little farther away from her. Cowboy hats rested atop their heads, and Carly tilted her own head in slight confusion. They certainly didn't look like they were from here, and Carly was sure she hadn't seen them before. Were they new? She wasn't positive, but she decided she was pleased with the view either way. Although she wasn't quite sure how she felt about those thick southern accents yet. She gathered her blonde hair into a loose bun at the nape of her neck and secured it with an elastic from her wrist as she followed them, curiously eyeing their cowboy boots now that she was closer. "You know, it's not polite to stare at girls you don't know," she laughed, a smile spreading across her face, "And I'm not sure they would appreciate being called 'honeys', mostly because they're probably not used to it." She shook her head slowly, studying them more carefully now. She grinned at them and offered a small friendly wave. "I'm Carly, by the way. Are you guys new?"

Jake and Reed turned at the same time to see a blond girl grinning at them. Jake tilted his head curiously as Reed grinned back, his brown eyes bright and happy. "We just figured calling a girl honey is better than calling her something inappropriate and non-polite." he replied innocently, mainly in an attempt to charm her. Reed didn't like making enemies or having anyone dislike him for that matter."
Jake looked from his brother to the girl, Carly. "I'm Jake and this is Reed. We just moved here from Texas a couple days ago. We would have been here sooner if this place had been equipped for our bull and bronco."

Sophie looked up hearing two boys talking in a different accent, different from around here. She smiled slightly seeing two really cute boys, and then saw they were on their way this way by the trees before some blonde girl stopped them. She rolled her eyes as she saw it was like those typical California girls, blonde skinny and probably flirting with them even though she didn't know if the girl was really from California she just figured. She put her phone away taking out her homework again even though she wasn't going to do it she liked her view at the moment, and kinda hoped one of them or both would start heading her way.

Carly nodded slowly before replying. "I guess that's true; Honey isn't so bad." She raised an eyebrow at Jake before glancing quickly at Reed. "Your bull and bronco," she repeated with a laugh, "Well, where exactly did you put them then? You know, since Tidewater isn't exactly properly equipped." She turned her gaze to a girl sitting under a tree staring at them. She tilted her head curiously, staring back at her for a moment before turning back to the two attractive guys in front of her. "So, is it true that everything's bigger in Texas?" she asked playfully, laughing again.

Reed nodded, "Yeah, our parent's purchased some land close to the school and built a small ranch for our animals that we brought with us so we could train for the rodeo's back home."
"Yeah, Pa wouldn't want us to get behind when competition is getting close." Jake replied, looking Carly over then following her gaze to the other girl, tilting his head curiously, keeping his eyes on her, choosing to not speak again.
Reed blinked in surprise and laughed, "I don't know girlie, you'll just have to wait and find out." he playfully winked.

"That's right...look this way." Sophie mumbled to herself looking at Jake, as she met his gaze she stared at him for about a minute before she blushed slightly breaking her gaze from him. She cleared her throat looking down towards her homework again, well that went well...not really. Shit now it was just weird because she still felt like he was watching her but she refused to look back up. He did look really cute with his cowboy hat on though, probably had an weird accent if he was from "down south" which would probably be hard to understand. She didn't really get some of the things people said around here, how would she understand him. She pushed these thoughts to the back of her head, and tried to focus on what she should be doing, homework.

Carly smiled, nodding as Jake and Reed took turns speaking. "Sounds like these rodeos are pretty important to your dad," she said with a shrug. She had never been to a rodeo before, and she wasn't exactly sure what went on during them. But she was sure they had to be a lot of fun if guys that looked like these two participated in them. She laughed when Reed spoke again, snapping her out of her daydream. "I guess I'll have to wait and see then."

"Yeah, our family's big into the country life," Jake said, still looking at Sophie, "I'll leave you two to talk." He mused, shoving his hands in his pockets and walked away from the two, heading towards Sophie.
Reed grinned, "We've been going to rodeo's since we were just babies and started entering them as soon as we were old enough. Our Pa's a famous rodeo star back home and our Ma is rodeo royalty. So, we were destined to follow in their foot steps."

Carly nodded at Jake and watched him make his way to the girl that had been staring at them. She studied her for a moment longer, feeling a pang of jealously when she noticed how pretty and skinny the girl was. "Honestly, I don't even know what goes on at rodeos," she said absently as she turned her attention back to Reed, "I mean, I don't think we have anything like that around here, and I've lived here all my life. So I don't really know." She shrugged her slim shoulders, unsure of what to say next. She felt stupid; didn't they have rodeos on movies or tv or something?

Sophie decided quickly to look up, and saw that one of them was walking her way. Oh god, now that she looked up she can't look back down and ignore him. She took in a deep breath and pulled her head all the way up to see him getting closer and closer to her. Wow, he was getting even more hotter as he came closer observing him from what she could see and she liked it all. She gave him a warm smile as he drew near to her not really sure what to say at the moment because of her dazing over him, hopefully he would say something first before she made a fool out of herself.

Reeds eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, a rodeo is all about bull riding, horse racin', all sorts of fun. And there's always something going on, and there's fair food, like elephant ears and bunch of deep friend stuff." he grinned dreamily, thinking about all of the good food.
Jake gave Sophie a dazzling, pearly white smile, "Hey there little lady," he said with his deep southern drawl, "I'm Jake, just moved here from Texas, who are you?"

Or lord that smile he has, she thought giving him a smile back. Little lady? Aw that's cute better than what other things she was called, and the accent...well it wasn't so bad. "Sophie, just moved her not too long ago from England." she told him pushing some hair back behind her ear.

Carly laughed as Reed began to explain rodeos to her, his gaze drifting off dreamily. "That actually sounds like a lot of fun," she said with a smile, shaking her head slowly at his enthusiasm, "Except for that bit about the fried foods. I've never been a fan. And what the hell are elephant ears?" She wondered if people actually ate real elephant ears, and she felt sick at the thought, her stomach lurching. She shook the thought away quickly, figuring there was no way that was possible. Surely it was just a weird name for some strange southern food or something.

Jake nodded curiously, "England? That's a really long while from here. Why'd you make the move all the way over here?" he asked.
Reed's eyes widened, "You don't know what elephant ears are? They're like funnel cakes. They're fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar, they're so good!" he grinned, "My mom promised that she would send me some."

"My dad got transferred here through his job." Sophie told him looking up at him smiling still. "Why did you move here? And who is that over there you were with? Your brother?" she asked looking over to where Reed and Carly were and then quickly back to him deciding she should stand up. She didn't know if he could have been looking down her shirt or something, and it was just better talking while standing, she didn't have to look so far up to him.

Carly shrugged then shook her head slowly. "Nah, I've never had one," she told him, dropping her gaze down to her hands as she tugged at the hem of her shirt. Her stomach was still churning threateningly at the thought of fried foods, and she tried not to scrunch her nose in disgust. "Do you think they travel well? I mean, won't they be like gross by the time they get here?"

Jake nodded, "Yeah, that's my brother Reed and a girl named Carly. We moved her just to get a change of scenery. We've grown up in the same exact place and have never lived anywhere besides there, so our parents convinced us to go to Tidewater for a year."
Reed laughed softly, "Hopefully they don't go bad, that would be mighty disappointing." he looked Carly over curiously, mentally noting how tiny she was, she was nothing like the girls back home who had meat on their bones. He tilted his head, eyes starting to show with concern. "Are you alright little lady?"

"I just don't think fried foods would travel well," Carly said with an indifferent shrug, "Don't people say they're only really good the first day? Like french fries." She shrank back slightly when he started to study her, and she suddenly felt even more uncomfortable in her own skin. She knew she should have worn baggier clothes; they hid the body so much better than anything tight. "I'm fine," she said slowly, knitting her eyebrows together in confusion, "Why do you ask?"
