Emanuel had a while to unpack. Interestingly enough, his new roommate wasn't in there, so he had a few moments of alone time. He had already made his bed, but something was deeply bothersome about the way he did it. Sure it LOOKED fine, but did he do it right? He sighed and yanked the sheets off the bed, making sure to put them on right this time. They were on correctly and- oh the blinds he thought, walking over to the window by his desk. He adjusted them ever so slightly with the cord so that the edge of the blind met the middle of the window. He sighed and looked around. Things finally looked right on his side...though he hadn't washed his hands in a while. He grabbed a small bottle of antibacterial soap from his bag and sauntered over to the washroom to clean his hands. Things usually weren't so intense for Emanuel, but today he was especially nervous. He gripped the edge of the sink and stared himself down in the mirror.

Christian walked into his room, humming under his breath. He wore his usual jeans and button up shirt, his hair still damp from his swim practice that he had just completed. He looked around, tilting his head curiously when he saw that his roommate had finally moved in, his side looking immaculate and perfect while Christian's side was well...messy, his bed was unmade and his books were staked half haphazardly on his desk, ready to fall at any moment. He scratched his head and looked around, not seeing his roommate. "Hello?" he called, "Where are you hiding bro?"

Just calm down. You've changed schools before. Its no big deal. he reassured himself. Nope; no I'm going to die. he panicked. I've gotta... I need to make sure I don't screw this up he decided as he reached into his pocket for a small bottle of pills. He grabbed one from the bottle and dry-swallowed it. As he was ramming the bottle back into his pocket, he was startled by the sound of someone's voice. He's here already?! he thought.
"I am over here" Emanuel responded, his voice cracking a little. He stepped out of the washroom and waved sheepishly with one hand. He flicked the lightswitch to the washroom off, then on, then off again. "Hi, My name is Emanuel"

Christian furrowed his brow slightly when his new roommate flickerd the lights off and on, but shrugged it off and offered a friendly smile. "I'm Christian, if I had known you were coming today I would have came and helped you move. I do hope you're making yourself at home though."

"Oh its okay. I didn't have too much to move up anyway." he said, shrugging. He forced a nervous smile and pulled his hand down from the lightswitch to his side. Augh, damnit he thought as he quickly pulled his hand up again and lightly tapped the switch again. "So...what classes are you taking?"

Christian went and started making his bed, feeling a little too messy when looking at Emanuel's side of the room, maybe they would be a good combination and Christian could learn how to be clean for once. "I'm just doing the general thing, though I'm kind of taking a lot of computer related classes. How about you?"

"Ah, I'm taking AP US History, AP English, Honors Latin 4, Parenting, AP Biology, And Algebra" he rattled off the classes with relative ease, his accent slowing him down a bit. He had to think phonetically about what he was about to say. He glanced at Christian's side of the room, which made his heart race. He wanted to rush over and fix it, but he knew that would be inappropriate. He shifted his weight from side to side and made eye contact with Christian to avoid looking at the shelves.

He nodded, letting out a low whistle. "Dang, you're an over achiever," he chuckled, "hopefully I won't be too distracting for you, I tend to multi task a lot and be a little noisy. He finished making his bed then went to stacking his books in a better order.

"I am not bothered by noise" he said in a reassuring tone. "I do have a habit of studying late at night though." he admitted "If the light bothers you or whatever, I can always go somewhere else to study." he added. over achiever? he thought What does that mean?

"Naw, it'll be cool. I can pretty much sleep through anything." he replied, looking at what he had done, though it had looked better than before, his side of the room was still a mess.

"Oh that's good" he trailed off Emanuel looked at the shelf and at the rest of the room "Would you like some help cleaning up?" he blurted out. He blinked a few times to process what he just said. He barely knew the guy and he was offering to move his stuff around? He stared down at the floor.

Christian looked at him and smiled sheepishly, "Sure, I completely suck at cleaning my room...I never really paid any attention to my mom when she tried to teach me." A small frown tugged at the corner of his mouth and he looked down. It was still hard for him to think about his Mom after all of this time.

Emanuel picked up on Christian's sudden, sad expression. He put a hand on Christian's shoulder to express his sympathy. "C'mon" he said and gestured for Christian to follow him. "I usually start on the right and work my way to the left." he made a sweeping motion with his hand. "Don't focus on one meter until you have cleaned the last one. Then once we're done, we will step back and take another look at it" he explained. What he didn't explain is that he usually goes from right to left, left to right and back again six times. He was trying to cut down on the amount of "rituals" he subjected other people to.

Christian offered a smile, his gaze still sad. "Sounds like a plan, I'll do my best to keep this side clean when we finish."

Emanuel nodded as he picked around the room, making sure not to invade on Christian's privacy too much. He moved a tremendous amount of pencils from the floor to the desk, and moved books from the floor to the shelf. He gathered all the balls of crumpled paper and put them into a plastic bag. "Its easier to maintain if you do it once a week" he suggested

Christian nodded, "I'm sure you'll keep me up to par with cleaning. I even give you permission to clean my side if you really want to."

"I'll try not to bother you about it too much" Emanuel said as he picked a tiny fleck of paper from his sweater vest.

He shrugged, "I don't really mind, I don't realize a lot of the stuff I do. Like one time I accidentally left a sandwich on my desk before Spring Break and when I came back it was all moldy and gross," he wrinkled his nose, "It didn't really click in my brain that I should have thrown it away before break."

"Oy gevalt" Emanuel muttered as he leaned on the doorframe for support. Remembering that he had touched that desk minutes ago, he darted to his own desk and utilized the bottle of hand sanitizer on the edge of it. "We should probably just do a quick clean up before any breaks, then" he suggested and leaned against his desk, waiting for his stomach to settle.

"Oy what?" Christian watched him curiously. "I agree with the clean up thing, I'll try to remember as much as I can to not leave out anything else that could easily go bad."
