"She's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time." Christian admitted but looked back when he heard Emanuel's sigh. "You alright?"

"Yeah, just a little homesick." Emanuel said. "I will be alright." he forced a reassuring smile. "Everything is so different here."

"Where are you from?" Christian asked. not remember if he had asked Emanuel this before, he sometimes had the memory of a gold fish, and by sometimes, it was basically all the time.

"Tel Aviv, Israel" he said, smiling. He said it before, but he figured that it was easy for someone to get the countries messed up. "I lived there for most of my life, so I am still a little culture shocked. " he said.

"Wow, no kidding, it must be intensely different than here." Christian said with big eyes. "I had no idea that people from that far away would come here to Tidewater."

"It is very different. People seem distant, and a bit harder to talk to." he said. "It is really hard to get used to"

Christian nodded. "Yeah, everyone's afraid someone is going to hurt them or something, I blame the media for that. They report too many bad things and not enough good, so everyone is afraid to do something."

"Exactly" He said. "Its really bizarre. Where I'm from, people invite eachother over for dinner, even if they just met. Neighbors talk to eachother, and people say hello on the street, even if they are strangers. Initially, I was surprised that anyone is able to meet people and make friends here when communication is so rare"

"It is difficult." Christian replied thoughtfully. "A lot of people use technology in order to talk now. I feel like the increase in technology is creating a rise of social anxiety in these new generations."
