Winnie sat at the table, more like leaning on it like a lazy person. She had taken off her mask and was staring at her drink, turning it around and around not sure what else there was to entertain herself. Lewis said he was going to go play a few games with his friends, something about money and gambling. She didn't care, she decided they would just be acquaintances, if that. She sat up slightly, wondering why she was still at this thing when she could be back in her dark dorm room, talking with her real friends online and writing her fanfiction. This dance was a bad idea and a waste of time.

Rosco walked into the dance with Hanley by his side. They had taken a little longer than everyone else since Hanley had been so self conscious about what she was wearing, almost deciding to not go at all, until Rosco convinced her other wise. Rosco looked around for someone they might know, pushing his mask up so it just sat on his head while Hanley nervously ran her hands over her dress.

Winnie finally decided to get up, she wasn't sure if it was laziness that kept her sitting at that table or total defeat of being dumped there like some loser. She grabbed her mask from the table and turned around, heading for the door. She was done with this night, ready to change into something more Winnie appropriate.

Rosco was moving towards a table when he suddenly ran into someone, that person being Winnie. "Oh man, I'm so sorry." He looked down, his eyes going wide when he saw it was Winnie. "Oh....hey."

Winnie wasn't looking where she was going, she was trying to keep herself from tripping over the shoes and the dress when she bumped into someone. "No my faul-" She began to say when she looked up into those damn blue eyes again. "Rosco," She said, basically whispering his name under her breath. She cleared her throat and smiled "Hey, didn't know you were coming." She said blushing deeply.

Rosco smiled back kindly. "Yeah, Hanley wanted to come so I decided to be nice and go too. Speaking of which, Winnie, meet my cousin Hanley."
Hanley looked up from playing with her curls and smiled. "Hey." She said, pulling her mask up so Winnie could see her.

Winnie smiled "Hi, your cousin has told me a lot about you," She said realizing he hadn't told her a whole lot besides a few things about Doctor Who and fandoms. "So, did you guys just get here?" She asked wondering if her idiotic self just didn't see them here before.

Hanley half smiled, trying to get more comfortable, but kept feeling like everyone was watching her. Judging her. Snickering at her for trying to be beautiful. She shook off the feelings and looked at Winnie. "Yeah, we just got here...I really love your dress, it reminds me of Merida."

Winnie looked down at the dress her mother picked out. "Thanks. Wasn't going for that look, but that makes it sou d awesome," she said smiling bigger now. "Just to let you know, you haven't missed much," she said thinking they only missed the ki g and Queen announcement and how Lewis left her for his friends.

Hanley nodded and looked around as Rosco turned his attention to Winnie, having been playing with a pink streamer he had found while the girls had been talking. "Weren't you coming here with someone?" He asked.

Winnie opened her mouth to say something then shut it quickly, her entire face turned bright red and she stared at the table trying to think of the words to say. "He's around..." She finally said thinking the only thing she could say was he went off with his friends, which she didn't want to admit.

Rosco frowned slightly, "Did he ditch out on you?" he asked, starting to get a little angry at the thought.

"Oh no... No no, uh," Winnie said trying to figure out how to avoid an awkward moment, she hoped Rosco wasn't thinking about finding Lewis and beating him up for this. "He was with his friends... I lost track of him." She said trying to make it seem like her fault. She turned to look at Hanley and blushed, feeling like an idiot.

Rosco raised an eyebrow "Are you lying to me?"
Hanley looked at Winnie and just smiled, she knew this kind of questioning and was use to it. Once Rosco started asking questions, there was no way to shake him.

Winnie didn't what to saw, she noticed Hanley only smiled at her. She guessed she knew how her cousin was, and Winnie was just learning. She looked up at him, staring into those blue eyes. She blushed immediately at the memory of what she told him when she looked at him, she suddenly couldn't speak or think straight. "Excuse," She whispered and turned to go anywhere.

Rosco looked at her in surprise. "I was just asking questions...."
"Here, lets go to the bathroom." Hanley gave her cousin a pointed looking, which only confused him more and he watched as Hanley gently took Winnie by the arm and lead her to the bathrooms. "Sorry about him, he's uber protective." She said with a roll of her eyes.

Winnie was slightly grateful that Hanley said something and only half grateful she decided a place to hide. "By why me? He barely knows me," She said wanting to cry about the situation. She made her way to the girls bathroom, hoping there was no one inside.

Hanley walked into the bathroom, sensing Winnie's distress. She picked up the skirt of her dress so it wouldn't drag on the ground as she checked all the stalls, looking back at Winnie. "They're all empty, it's just us." She leaned against the sink counter and tried to figure out how to describe Rosco, rubbing her hand against her chin. "You're a girl and he considers you a friend...Rosco is very protective of others, that's always been his nature."

Winnie sighed in relief when Hanley said it was empty, she turned to the door and locked it. She didn't care if any girls started yelling at them, she didn't want anyone to walk in on her, especially if she would break down and cry. "So, it's just his nature," She said understanding now, even though they just met, he was instantly protective. "Now I wish I had hid under my bed better," She muttered as she closed her eyes, but the only thing to pop up was Rosco's eyes.

"Yes it is, I got use to it pretty easily." Hanley said with a small laugh. She looked at Winnie and cocked her head to the side. "Hid under your bed? Do you not like my cousin?" She asked curiously, not mad at all, just wondering what happened between the two. She hadn't been very good at squeezing information out of him.
