Shara smiled as they made their way out to the dance floor. The only problem, she just wasn't feeling all that into the dancing mood tonight. She put up a front though, knowing that Whitney wouldn't be able to see through her literal mask and the one she has taken years to perfect. Something bad was going to happen, she was almost positive.

Whitney was oblivious to Shara's mood, she was happy to be on the dance floor with her again and loose herself in the music, she wasn't worrying about the Shark Tank, or Ben, or that her brother almost found out she was kind of a lesbian. She wanted to dance the cares away that night, and dance with Shara.

Shara smiled, trying to let herself go, but just couldn't. "I'm going to go get something to drink. YOu want anything?" she shouted over the music, making sure she was still moving along with the music to keep up her walls.

Whitney frowned, it was barely half way through the first song, but she nodded wondering if there was anything wrong. She noticed Shara was still dancing but not like before, she must be tired for some reason, and Whitney didn't know why.

Shara smiled, lifting her head to peck Whitney on the cheek. "I'll be right back." she quickly made her way out of the dancing bodies before looking around, making sure Whitney couldn't see her deviate her destination. She made her way over o the clothing rack and searched for her coat and purse. She found it and pulled out her phone, thumbing through the messages that she got from her two little brothers and one surprisingly from her older brother. She smiled softly, she hadn't talked to them in a long time. As she was typing a reply she got another text. She frowned and quickly sent the one she was working on before opening the new one. Her face instantly dropped as she read it. "W...what?" she asked no one. She took a deep breath and clutched her phone tightly.

Whitney continued to dance figuring Shara would be back with drinks for both of them, she was oblivious to the passing time and before she knew it four songs had passed and Shara still hadn't shown up. She wondered if there was a line for the punch bowl and decided to find out what was happening. She made her way towards the punch bowl and noticed Shara wasn't there, she didn't know what to do now. Whitney looked around the gym, unable to see where Shara was.

Shara turned so her back was pressed up against the wall as she slid down it, still staring at the screen on her phone. You are seriously the butt of everyone's jokes now! Did you see the new blog post about Your little girlfriend and Ben? Sweetheart, you are old news, and Ben is in the place you wished you were. That's all the text said, and she had no idea who it was from. She felt her eyes burn and she blinked them rapidly. She should have known better. She clicked the link that was sent with the text that took her to the newest entry on the blog. She read through it and sighed, dropping her phone. She should probably just pretend like nothing was bothering her...that's how she played it for years, she could do it again.

Whitney started near the punch bowl, seeing if maybe Shara got stuck talking to someone. When she didn't see her, she searched the bathroom next, checking under every stall and seeing no feet she sighed with frustration... She felt like giving up, she was sure something was wrong and then it hit her. The Shark Tank, Shara must have read it.

Shara sighed as she shook her head, and pulled herself up slowly. She might as well face the music and get it all over with. How could she even think that a girl who was just experimenting would choose another girl over a guy. She tucked her phone back into her purse before going over to the punch bowl to grab the two drinks and went off looking for Whitney. She had the two cups in her hand as she walked around, finding the other girl in question. She plastered a smile on, trying to act like she wasn't just getting ready to cry. "Here, it looks like some sort of fruit punch or something...way too sugary I think." she said with a shrug, holding out one of the cups for the girl in the purple dress to take.

Whitney was sure Shara had left the dance when she popped out of no where, she saw the smile on her face and let out a sigh of relief, maybe she hadn't seen it yet. She giggled, taking the cup from her and taking a sip. "Where did you go? After a few songs I was wondering if you got stuck talking to someone," She said trying to control her breathing. She took a second sip wondering why it tasted a little strange.

Shara shrugged. "I checked my phone for any texts that I got tonight. I actually had one from my brother, it's been forever since we talked." she said with a small smile. It was quickly wiped off her face when she looked at Whitney closer. "Hey, are you alright?" she frowned as she took the other girls hand. "lets go outside for some fresh air." she gently pulled the other girl till they were outside in the darkened night. The cool air evaporated some of the perspiration from her body, making her shiver.

Ben was walking towards the gym, deciding that checking out the dance was better than just sitting around in his dorm. He wasn't wearing a mask, just jeans and a blue and black plaid shirt. He rubbed his jaw and looked around when he heard the pulsating music, trying to debate whether he really wanted to go in or not.

Whitney tried laughing it off "Oh I just danced too hard," She said feeling much better now that Shara didn't know. "That's great, hearing from your brother," She said as she followed Shara outside. She took a deep breath and let it out, feeling much better. "The cool air is nice after sweating on the dance floor," she joked, laughing and sipping her punch again.

Shara smiled softly before falling silent. She stared up at the sky which was a orange haze due to the lights of the city. "Can i ask you a serious question...Whitney?" she asked, breaking the silence. Her heart was beating a mile a minute and she felt like she would start crying at any moment. This would probably break her night. Even though she felt bad for herself...she would hate to be Whitney, she was the one who was being questioned. She almost didn't even want to ask in fear of putting the other girl on the spot.

Whitney blinked several times feeling confused, she looked up at the sky before hearing a sound. To her it sounded like someone was walking by but she wasn't quite sure. She turned back to Shara before answering. "S...Sure." She said wondering what this was about. Her attention was taken away when she heard the noise, she thought she saw a shadow, but she wasn't confident. She began to think this would be a long night.

Shara turned her eyes to where Whitney kept looking, her heart sinking more. Was it Ben already...ready to sweep Whitney away? "I..." she coughed, did it get colder outside? "While I was...texting my brother...an unknown number texted me." she started slowly...unsure of how to breech the topic. "It...gave me a link to The Shark Tank." she mumbled softly, turning her eyes downwards.

Ben stopped, hearing voices. He frowned slightly but didn't make a move towards them. Instead he walked away from the gym and towards a cluster of trees, a place that looked good to relax at. As he headed towards the tree's, he passed the girl's line of sight, but was too oblivious to notice them.

Whitney forced herself to turn away from where the noise was coming from, her attention snapping back into reality when Shara said she saw the Shark tank. "Shara..... It's lies, we didn't kiss!" She said, her face turning red. She had a feeling she wouldn't believe her, but she had to try. "Whoever saw us got it wrong! Our dogs were playing together and we just talked," She said wondering if she should say that she confessed something to Ben.

Shara closed her eyes against the sting of tears. "I just...I guess I just find it hard that you would stay with me if you had a guy like that interested in you." she said with a sigh. "I don't know what to believe anymore..." she whispered sadly.

Whitney stepped close to Shara, putting an arm on her back before grabbing her hand with her other. She wasn't sure what was going on in Shara's mind, and hers was pure chaos. "Shara.... I like you," She said smiling softly, color coming to her cheeks and the butterflies fluttering in her stomach. "Feel this," She said, placing Shara's hand over her fast beating heart.
