Lance took in a deep breath to slow down his heartbeat in time for the next round, he looked up at the clock on the wall and frowned. He couldn't believe the first round of dodgeball took so long the class was almost over. He lined up with his fellow teammates, thinking he would sit back and not rush forward this time.
The Whistle blew and everyone raced for the line in the middle, Lance jogged a few steps but stopped. He watched as everyone began throwing the balls around, waiting for one to come his way.

This next round had Ellie out almost instantly. She dropped the ball with a sigh and sat off to the side while others played. Things seemed to be serious out on the battle field. A little bit dangerous. Ellie could hear the sound of the balls whizzing through the air at great speeds. "Watch out!" somebody had shouted the instant the ball had left their hands. The ball collied with Ellie, smacking her hard in the face. The girl stumbled backwards, a little bit dazed as what was going on. It stung. It hurt. She smiled and laughed at what had happened. "I'm fine," she waved. "Don't worry about it. Just keep playing." When people turned their heads she got up almost robotically and made her way around the corner and slipped around the corner leaving nothing but a few drops of blood where she had been sitting.
Ellie needed the solitude. She rested her back against the wall and slid down it until she curled into a ball with her face tucked into folded arms. That was so embarrassing. That had hurt. Ellie needed to cry. She could feel her nose running while she cried into her arms. It'd only take a few moments for he to get over it. Everyone else could just laugh about it and forget about it. But not Ellie.

Lance was having a great time, he wasn't really paying attention to who he was aiming for but as he was about to throw the ball in his hands he heard someone call out. He turned to see a ball hit Ellie straight in the face. 'Oh shit,' he thought as he raced over, a few other students had followed but when she said she was fine and walked off, they returned to the game.
Lance however followed after Ellie, noticing a few drops of blood on the ground. He turned the corner and stopped, he could hear her crying. "Ellie?"

At first she stayed quiet wanting nothing more than for him to go away. She sniffled and brought her hand up to her nose. "Oh god," she mumbled. There was a bit more than what she thought. Ellie didn't mind blood, she loved it, but the whole concept of a bloody nose made her feel sick. "Lance," she muttered quietly. She hid her face with her hand while she spoke. "Can you bring me some tissues?" She had a bit of a mess with the mixture of the blood and tears that was dripping onto her shirt.

Lance let her sit there, he wasn't sure exactly what he should do in this situation. He looked down to the floor wondering if he should just leave when she spoke. He looked up quickly, seeing her covering her nose with her hand and he noticed the blood. "Oh, right tissues," He said running into the boys bathroom across the hall. He grabbed an entire roll of toilet paper and returned, handing it to her "Here."

"Thanks... I'm really not cut out for this whole gym thing," she laughed while she tilted her head back in order to stop the flow of blood. She had heard mixed suggestions when it came to that, whether it worked or not, but Ellie didn't care. She was willing to try anything to get it to stop. She rolled up a few of the tissues and stuck them in her nose for a bit of extra protection. "I bet I'm really attractive like this, huh? You don't need to answer that. You were really amazing back there. Did people get you out this time? I wasn't able to see."

Lance sat down next to her, holding the toilet paper for her. He listened to her, not wanting to say anything but also because he wasn't sure what to say. Lance shrugged, "I thought you did pretty well," he said wondering what else he should say. He laughed "Actually no, I sort of followed you instead of getting back into the game," he said wondering if the game was over or not.

"Stalker." she joked. Part of her was really glad that he followed. This was all his fault really. If he wouldn't have made this a competition, she wouldn't have gotten hurt. Some how. Whatever. This was his fault in some way. "Thanks. You probably saved me from dying of blood loss." She tipped her head back down and felt only a little trickle left. Ellie sighed and rested her head against the wall while she looked at Lance. "I thought you were just some... um.." Ellie blushed, "Athletic beefcake when we met. You remind me a bit of my brothers, actually." And for Ellie, it was nice to have somebody a bit like family around the school.

Lance chuckled nervously, though he wondered if she was being serious or not. He didn't think he was a stalker, but you never other peoples definition were. He rolled his eyes, "I am sure you wouldn't have died of blood loss," He said thinking there wasn't anyone he knew that died of a bloody nose. He blushed slightly and shook his head. "Beefcake? Nah, I'm far from a beefcake," he said knowing he could bulk up his arms more if he wanted to, but that would involve being in the gym more often and less time with the ladies. ((By the way, you avatar is from To the Moon game right?))

"Well, you look strong. Not beefcake strong, but like... I don't know. A good amount." Maybe strong wasn't exactly what she was looking for. He was fit more than anything. Ellie picked up a few of the tissues and walked them over to the trashcan. It was that time again for the gym class to be over. She looked over at Lance in a quick glance and then back down to her feet shyly. Ellie didn't need a lot of socialization, but ever since her friend just stopped hanging out with her in middle school she never really... spoke so much to a person. She liked Lance. It was probably due to him being one of the few to approach her before she bothered approach him. And she knew that. She wasn't lying when she said she thought him similar to one of her brothers. She missed the guys so much.
She wanted to do something after class. Dinner, a movie, a party, Ellie had never gone to all of the above. But.. he had other friends. Probably a girlfriend so.. he wouldn't hang out with her. "I.. guess I'll see you tomorrow. Maybe you can teach me more about... Well, I'm sure some athletic thing that this teacher will fail to explain to us will come up." That's just how it always seemed to go.
((why yes, yes it is. =3= i found out about it through 'Everythings Alright' and then really wanted to play it. Love it.))

Lance smiled "Thanks, I like to lift," He said flexing his arms to show off. He might one day become a beefcake one day though he didn't think those guys were attractive, then again he was never attracted to guys. He heard the bell ring and smiled "Torture class is over," he said standing up and holding out the toilet paper to her. "Do you want to keep this? he asked though he wasn't sure why she would want to, maybe just in case she suddenly got another nose bleed. He could always toss it back into the boys bathroom like nothing happened.
"Yup, tomorrow," Lance said though she acted like she wanted to say something else. He shrugged at the thought and decided not to push the subject. "I am sure we wont be running again," he said though he could never be too sure, the teacher possibly could make them run ten miles tomorrow, he would hate that.
((It certainly was an interesting game ))

"No, its fine," she waved her hand. She'd just go take a shower and wash everything else off in there. There was a lot that she needed to think about too. She gave a quiet sigh. It seemed like Lance didn't have any other plans tonight. Ellie closed her eyes and smiled at him. "Tomorrow," she repeated. Ellie went to the wall and looked around the corner to make sure the class had all retreated back into the locker rooms ahead of her. It was a clear shot and nobody was around to see her. Ellie slipped into the locker room and rested her hand over a racing heart. Lance probably thought she was a fool, but the shy girl really loved every bit of attention the male was giving her. It was different. For once somebody seemed interested in who she was.

Lance nodded and walked to the boys bathroom, opening the door and just tossing the toilet paper inside, he was certainly too lazy to stick it back on the contraption. Lance watched her go before following her into the gym, grabbing his things and heading outside. He wondered what Ellie was thinking all the time, it seemed she was different from the other girls here at tidewater, well at least one of the different girls.

By the time she got into the bathroom, Ellie was finally able to look herself in the mirror. Yikes. She lifted her hand to touch her tender and swollen nose and brought her hand away. At least there was no longer any blood. Alone in the locker room, she placed her belongings in the locker and grabbed her stuff for a nice long shower. The only real benefit of having gym class last each day.
(( >:C I say they do swimming next -hue hue hue hue- Unless you have something else you would rather do. ))

The following day's lesson was something that Ellie actually could work with. It took her back all the way to summers up north, playing with her brother's in the sandy beaches and crystal clear lakes back at home. Ellie liked to swim. Nothing competitive, just casual. She pulled on her swimsuit and wrapped a towel tightly around herself so she could shyly sneak out of the locker room and sit on the bleachers by the pool. She liked to swim yes, but doing so with all her other classmates was a different story. It just made Ellie feel like she stuck out even more, the only girl that actually seemed to own a tankini instead of pulling a shirt over their bikinis.

Lance groaned, he had never been a fan of swimming. Mostly because he was never a good swimmer but also he wasn't a fan of getting wet, he was like a cat in that aspect. He sat in the back of the bleachers hoping to be the last called and before he would step in the water the bell would ring and save him. He placed his face in his hands and sighed, staring through his fingers at his blue trunks hoping the day would end.

Ellie folded her towel and placed it on the bleachers so she could quickly book it into the water. It was a bit colder than she liked it. She shivered and stuck in the shallow end of the pool off to the side with a few other students. There were lanes for people to swim laps and there was a free swim area. Ellie ducked herself under so only her head was visible. Waiting for the lap part of the pool to open up. She swam around a bit, coming to the deep end and kicked her feet to stay afloat. She noticed that there was a certain somebody that had yet to come into the water. Ellie swam close to the wall and pulled herself up so she could look over it. "Lance," she called quietly and flicked a bit of water in his direction. "You should come in and play."

Lance watched the other kids run and jump into the pool, there were a few stragglers other than himself but he noticed how quickly Ellie had jumped in. He guessed she enjoyed swimming, at least she could enjoy this class with no issues, he hoped. He was about to hide in the shadows beneath the bleachers when he heard someone calling to him, he was glad it was only Ellie and not the teacher. He smiled and waved and when she said to come in he shook his head. "I'm good."

"Are you sure?" she tilted her head. "The water is great. I wouldn't mind if we swam every day." With the exception of one week in each month. That probably wouldn't be the greatest. She placed her feet on the wall of the pool and used her arms to pull her self out of the water. The air outside the pool felt warm at first, but it took only a few seconds for Ellie to begin getting chilled. Guys liked to race, right? Maybe she could play at that to get him inside. "We could race from one side to the other. Or maybe dive down and touch the bottom of the pool." She wished there was some sort of sticks she could go and dive in after. Ellie just really wanted to play.
