"I had my suspicions. Hans had kind of a villain face, so I wasn't too surprised" he said, stretching a little.

Jessica shook her head, he didn't seem like a villan to her. Which meant she could fall for anyone and think they were nice. "But an awesome movie," she said giggling like a little girl.

"Yes, definitely" he said and began to stand. He got a head rush when he got up, though and fell backward into the seat. "Oh god" he slurred. "I think I'm....ugh." he waited for the dizzy spell to subside before he started talking again. "I'm really sorry, but I think I might be dehydrated or something" he groaned. "My....Its always so hard to tell" he said, embarrassed.

Jessic stood up with but freaked when he fell back. "Oh my God are you okay?" She asked falling back into her seat. "Dehydrated? Would it help if I got water or Gatorade?" She asked.

"Gatorade, please" he said, barely lucid enough to speak. "I'm sorry" he whined, trying hard not to pass out in front of Jessica.

"Its fine just sit here and breath," Jessica said doing some breathing exercise for pregnant woman. She ran out to the concession stand and asked if they had any Gatorade. She paid for the biggest size they had and ran back to the theater. "Here," she said holding it out to him. "Wasnt sure what flavor, hope fruit punch is okay,"

"Whatever whatever" he said, a little panicked. He drank it and sat back in silence with his eyes closed for a moment. "Thank you" He said and sighed once he felt stable enough. "I am so, so sorry." he said and bit his lip. "This doesn't happen all the time. Usually I remind myself to drink something. I....my body doesn't give me any warning signals that I need to drink until like, crisis mode" he said.

Jessica watched him drink the Gatorade, hoping this would make him feel better. She watched the other people pile out, staring at them and she hoped they would just continue on their way, which most of them did.
Jessica shook her head. "It's fine, I just hop you are okay," She said smiling softly hoping he was. "Well, that sucks." She said, not sure what else to say about it, to her it really did suck.

"I think I'm fine now. It just felt a little intense for a second there" He gave a reassuring smile and screwed the cap back onto the gatorade. "I'm sure you have to get home now." he said, looking at his watch. "I have a doctors appointment early tomorrow myself, and I'm not sure what you're doing on Saturday, but we can't stay in this theater forever" he laughed and stood up, testing his own stability. He was fine.

Jessica was glad he was alright, she was worried the o my friend teach wise was going to pass out or even worse. Jessica looked down at her watch and noticed the time. "I should go home," she said though she would only fmtake care of her cats and eat something before heading to bed. She grabbed her purse and began moving down the aisle. "Oh, my Saturdays are field with sleeping in and grading papers," she said realizing how dull her life seemed now.

"Such is the life of a teacher" he joked and began walking. "We spend the majority of our 'free time' grading" he said, making air quotes with his fingers. "And our students expect us to have every assignment graded by the next day. Its exhausting."

"Ah yes, the never ending ungraded papers," Jessica said knowing she had nightmares about ungraded assignemnts and others that were wrongly graded and the students stopped living her for it. "But I have no life so, it's not a big deal," she lied, there were lots of other things she'd love to do besides ceDe papers.

Bradley held the door for Jessica "Who has a life, these days? They're overrated" he joked, knowing full well that he would love to have a life if he had the chance. "I mean, spending every waking day with a red pen in my hand is exactly how I like to spend my time." he let out a raspy sigh, cringing at the sound his lungs made when he exhaled. "Joking aside, its all worth it. Seeing a student go from barely competent to outstanding is what makes it worth it."

"It is worth it." Jessica said. She always loved when a student learned something new and they were excited about it. "Well thank you." She said blsuhibg slightly. "This was a nice break from the usual boring night at home."

Monday morning came as quickly as any other monday. Bradley would be getting ready for work, but instead he was stuck in the hospital, waking up in the recovery room. The doctor touched him on the arm. "Mr. Webster, you have to open your eyes. Good. Don't try to talk, you're intubated and hooked up to a ventilation machine." Bradley looked up at the doctor, his eyes lacking the energy they usually had. "Can you follow this light with your eyes, please?" he did as he was asked. Wiggled his toes, moved his fingers.
"Alright, so all that checks out." he said, handing Bradley a whiteboard and a marker. "While you were under, we realized the infection was more than the scan had to show us. We removed very little tissue, but there was a miscalculation and you suffered a minor pneumothorax in your left lung. We managed to get it re-inflated, but you're in pretty rough shape right now. That being said, it's nothing we haven't dealt with before, so you're gonna be alright. Do you have any questions?"
Bradley looked up at the doctor, and wrote on the white board "How long do I have to stay here?"
The doctor shrugged "We really don't know at this point. Depending on how you react to the antibiotics, it could be a while."
Bradley attempted to sigh, which wasn't really an option considering the fact that he had a breathing tube in. The last thing he remembered from before the surgery was begging the school's secretary not to make Jessica be the substitute for him. He didn't want her to know he was going in for surgery, but no other teacher was available. He wondered how she was going to handle that class, and what was going to become of them as a result of this.

Jessica walked into Bradley's classroom early, she wanted to make sure everything would run smoothly, no mistakes or hiccups for his class while he was away. She took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. She couldn't believe he was in the hospital, for a surgery.
Jessica walked over to his desk and looked at the notebook he left, opening it revealed all the lesson plans he had made before Friday. She sat down in his chair, it feeling foreign to her. She knew she shouldn't feel betrayed, but she did slightly, something about him saying it was only a doctors visit made her wonder if it would always be just doctor visits, or something more.
She read over the lesson plan quickly, rereading it over and over again until she felt like she knew it well enough to reiterate it for the students. She began to wonder how he was doing when the first bell rang and students began to pile in. She smiled and nodded, standing up to write her name on the board. Gladly she recognized some of the students, meaning it wouldn't be difficult to feel comfortable here.

It was supposed to be a routine check-up. How was his lung able to get that bad without him noticing? It made no sense to him. He always took his medication, used his nebulizer and routinely cleared his chest. Thats how its been. With this disorder, its always unpredictable. You could be doing everything right, and still get screwed over. He wanted to be teaching his kids, not lying down in a hospital bed. He was going to ask Jessica out on another date at the end of the day and whelp, guess that's not happening. He felt loopy from the pain medication, but just lucid enough to be pissed at his situation. He felt useless. He couldn't grade papers, or even talk.

The class was a breeze, the students behaved themselves she was surprised. Most of the time when a substitute teacher walked in they misbehaved. The bell rang for the last of Bradley's classes, she still had her own classes to teach and she wasn't feeling up for it. She was still worried about Bradley, the school wouldn't tell her much about what happened, just that he had surgery and would be out for a few days.
She grabbed all his students assignments and shut the lights off and closed the door behind her. She then took the few steps to her own classroom and started it off like nothing was wrong. It went by quickly and she was thankful for that. She locked up her own room and ran out as fast as she could.
Jessica reached the hospital a little quicker than she expected, she could only hope they would let her see him with no trouble. She walked up to the nurses station in a brisk walk "What room is Bradley Webster in?" She asked repeating the words she would say in her head if they asked.

"Room 204" the nurse said, looking up at Jessica from her seat before going back to her crossword puzzle.

"Thank you," Jessica said as she hurried down the hallway, searching each room for 204. When she found it she stopped at the doorway, she wasn't sure if she was ready to see what had happened. She took a few deep breaths before knocking on the door and walking in. "Hello? Bradley?" She called out taking a few steps inside the room.
