His laughter rang through the courtyard as he jumped up twice, first onto the seat of a picnic table and then onto the top of the table itself. He clumsily lost his footing for a moment, nearly tumbling gracelessly backward onto the ground, before catching himself. Eli erupted into another fit of laughter, a ridiculous grin plastered on his face as he attempted to catch the eye of a girl he recognized from his math class. She glanced at him, knitting her eyebrows together and shaking her head, probably trying to figure out what exactly he was trying to do. He reached up, plucking a flower from the tree above him. Flowers grew on trees? He hadn’t been aware of the fact before his switch to Tidewater High this year, where a few flowering trees were spread throughout the campus. Maybe they had mentioned it in a science class before. He wasn’t sure; he would never be sure what exactly they talked about in his classes. He turned, his intentions of giving the rather ugly red-pink flower to the girl he had been trying to catch the attention of clear in his mind. His gaze fell on the spot she had just been sitting and he frowned, his shoulders slumping, as he realized that she was no longer there. His eyes scanned the courtyard, failing to catch sight of her again, and he dropped himself into a sitting position on top of the table. He pursed his lips as he watched his new classmates and tried to familiarize himself with their faces, his eyes lingering on the girls’ a bit longer.

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie ran a hand through her hair, trying to keep her attention on her book. Lately, she’d been trying a whole bunch of different places to read. For some reason, everywhere but her own room. Yeah, her room had an amazingly comfortable bed, but she was already in the courtyard leaning against a tree. How damn typical. Reading under the shade of a tree, pfft. She almost laughed, but the book was getting pretty intense, so she refrained. She bit her tongue, trying not to grin at her book. Oh reading. She loved it so much. Nerdy? Yeah. Did she care? No. It was just so much more interesting to get lost in a book then to get in a bitch fight with someone. It was more amusing to read than to actually be a part of.
Her attention from her book was momentarily lost when she saw movement in nearby her. There was guy nearby her, plucking a flower from the tree she was under, obviously unaware of her. Why? she wondered. No offense to the tree, but the flower’s weren’t cute unless they were bunched together. Whatever. She watched as he walked off with it, rolling her eyes and bringing her eyes back of her book. How pleasant. - - - - - - - - - - -character; alexandra caroline grey wordcount; 000 words lyrics; headband – b.o.b attire;

Growing tired of following around his female classmates, Eli stood still and stared back down at the ugly flower in his hand. He flexed his fingers together and crushed it in his palm, the color from the flower staining it his skin slightly. He glanced back at the tree he had retrieved it from as he wiped his dirty pink palm on the side of his jeans. He paused, squinting in the bright light of the sun at a girl perched under the tree. He grinned, his eyes taking in her blonde hair and tan skin hungrily, and loped over to her with his jaw set. As he stood over her, he could feel the heat of the sun on the back of his black shirt, burning. He laughed, shaking his head. "Most people read in the library," he noted, "Or in their own room. Or not at all, like me."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie tightened her grip on her book, trying hard not to lose interest now. But it just so happened her book was good, so she couldn’t stop. Not yet. It was only moments before she heard a voice, jumping at the sound. She looked up to see a guy in front of her. And a cute one, at that. It was the guy! The one who grabbed the flower. She offered a smile, squinting her blue eyes a little, ”And I’m not most people,” she replied, shutting her book, although her finger was between the pages to hold her spot. She tried hard not to stare at him, just trying to keep her cool. Had she seen him around before? No, she hadn’t. Not once. Was he new? She wanted to ask, but what if he wasn’t? That would be embarrassing. - - - - - - - - - - -character; alexandra caroline grey wordcount; 000 words lyrics; headband – b.o.b

"I can tell," Eli chuckled, kicking at the grass under him with a sneakered toe. He glanced back up at the tree, debating picking another flower to give to his newest target. He shook the thought from his head, deciding against it. Clearly it hadn't worked for him last time. It was time for a new approach. But what was the new approach? He hadn't decided yet, so he just beamed at her, his stupid grin spreading as he studied her. He finally said, "I'm Eli."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie smiled wider when he chuckled, ”Besides, it’s a nice day; might as well, ya know?”she said, although she was sitting under a tree. Regardless, the heat was nice. She would be at the beach right now, but it would cool down by the time she got there, so it would be pointless. She returned his grin when he spoke, ”I’m Allie,” she replied, stretching her legs out and adjusting her tight crop top a little, ”Are you new here?” she asked, bracing herself in case she was wrong. But how could she not notice him? One of her friends would’ve mentioned him sooner or later, had he actually went there before. - - - - - - - - - - -character; alexandra caroline grey wordcount; 000 words lyrics; headband – b.o.b

Eli waited, listening to her carefully. Her voice was nice, not whiny or shrill like a lot of girls he knew. He smiled. "Just started this week," he clarified with a nod, "I'm a senior. Again." He laughed contentedly and slid down the tree to sit next to her, not bothering to ask if it was okay. He eyed her, pleased to be closer so that he could study her more carefully. "How about you? Let me guess." He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully, scrutinizing her. "Junior, right?"

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie nodded when he spoke, ”Oh, well, let me be probably the millionth to introduce to Tidewater. The teachers suck balls, but the people are chill and the sports games are fun,”she said, offering him a grin. She cocked a brow when he spoke, ”Held back? Bad boy,” she said playfully, laughing. That stunk. She didn’t know many people who got held back, but maybe that was why he was going to Tidewater, since the school was stricter when it came to the education portion. She posed when he began studying her, though scoffed at his question, ”Please! I’m a senior,” she said, chuckling.

Eli smirked, laughing quietly and shaking his head. "Sorry, I wasn't really sure so I just took a guess," he admitted sheepishly. He nodded to himself and pulled at the grass around him lazily. "You're the first to welcome me, actually," he said as he grinned at her for the tenth time, "I switched here from Jackson High." He paused and raised an eyebrow at her, half expecting her to spit at him at the mention of Tidewater's rival.

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie shook her head at him, ”Always guess older, unless they look old, then guess younger," she advised, smirking. There were always those situations where it was good to guess someone was older than they actually were… Unless they were forty. Then it was okay to assume they were thirty. She raised her eyebrows, ”Really? Then maybe the people here do suck,” she said, returning his grin warmly. She gasped over-dramatically when he spoke, ”Why are you here? You’re going to get yourself killed!” she cried, though laughed. - - - - - - - - - - -character; alexandra caroline grey wordcount; 000 words lyrics; headband – b.o.b

Eli laughed, throwing his head back and hitting it on the tree. He hardly noticed though, and he rubbed it absently, still laughing. "Maybe I have a death wish," he suggested with a cocked eyebrow, "Or maybe I'm a spy. You know, helping to figure out what you guys are planning next or something." He paused, glancing down at her book and losing interest in it almost immediately. "I'm guessing you've been for a few years if you're a senior, so maybe you can show me around."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie’s mouth dropped when he spoke, ”Oh my god! Are you okay?” she cried, her hands springing up and ready to help. Though, he continued to laugh, so she relaxed, ”You obviously do,” she said, smirking and shaking her head. Was that even heard of? A student from Jackson High attending Tidewater? Poor guy. He would. She went wide-eyed when he spoke, ”Oh no! I better bring together the Tidewater army to stop you guys from finding out about our secrets!” she said, though chuckled. She nodded when he spoke, ”Yeah, I can show you our school, as long as you promise not to Jackson High all the ways to sneak in and prank us,” she said, smiling. - - - - - - - - - - -character; alexandra caroline grey wordcount; 000 words lyrics; headband – b.o.b

Eli stood and stopped rubbing the still sore spot on his head, offering his pink stained hand out to her to help her up. "I promise," he said, laughing and using his other hand to pretend to draw a cross over his heart, "But I'm pretty sure we've already figured out all the ways in." He paused and thought for a moment before adding with a smirk, "Actually, I probably know this school better than you. I just don't know where to find my stupid classes and the other important stuff."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie took his hand when he held it out, hoisting herself up, ”Thanks,” she said with a smile. She chuckled when he spoke, ”Good,” she replied, grinning. She gasped ”Oh god no! Please don’t burn down our school,” she said jokingly, shaking her head quickly. She raised a brow when he spoke, ”Well it’s really easy. What’s your schedule?” she asked, smiling faintly.

Eli frowned and knit his eyebrows together, his mind racing. His schedule. Where had he put that damn schedule? He tapped his pockets, satisfied when he heard a crinkling sound and felt the paper crease in his left pocket. He pulled out the wrinkled schedule and unfolded it, the writing already fading slightly where it had been creased. "Here we go," he grinned, holding it out to her, "Hey, maybe we've got classes together." He doubted that. He had already failed a year, his grades landing him mostly in what people called the "remedial classes." And she had been spending her free time reading under a tree. Surely, she had much better grades than him.

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie watched as he searched for his note, amused when he pulled out a crinkled piece of paper that she assumed what his schedule, ”Thank you,” she said, taking his paper and looking through his schedule, ”We don’t, sadly—but you’re lucky, since most of your classes are near each other,” she said, smiling up at him. ”Do you want me to show you where all of them are?” she asked, unsure if he actually wanted her to guide him to where his classes were.

Eli paused as he considered, scratching his head. He was fairly certain he could find the classes on his own. And, if not, he could always talk someone into showing him where to go when he was actually on his way to each class. But this girl was striking, and so far she had been the only one to even give him the time of the day. He decided he would buy his time with her, hoping to have more than just her name by the end of her tour. Perhaps he would learn her phone number or even her room number. Hey, maybe her roommate was hot too. "Well, I don't want to be lost on my first day of classes," he said slowly, raising both eyebrows at her, "Unless you want me to get lost."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie smiled when he spoke, shaking her head, "Well we can't let that happen," she said, chuckling "Then let me be your your guide!" she said with a smile, holding her arm out for him to latch onto. She wouldn't mind giving him a your, especially since he was so cute. She adjusted her shirt a little when it caught onto her belly button piercing, wondering absently if he had noticed it or not. Whatever. She tried not to think about it, still flashing a friendly smile at him. All she needed to do was give him a your. She tried not to let her imagination wander past that, sense she knew nothing would ever happen.

Grinning when she agreed, Eli laced his arm into hers and pushed them forward. "I knew you didn't want me to get lost," he laughed, shaking his head. His eyes drifted down toward her stomach when she began to tug at her shirt, but he broke his gaze away quickly, turning his attention to a homecoming poster nearby and pretending to study it. "Do you think I'm too late to win homecoming king?" he asked with a laugh, "Or is that over? I mean, I'm sure I can win everyone over in just a few days."

-----------------------» alexandra caroline greyAllie smiled when he agreed, "Of course not! Now what kind of person who that make me?" she asked, chuckling. That would be rude, too. Even if he wasn't cute, it wasn't like she would just tell him no and except him to find his way with no help. That would've been ridiculous. She felt his eyes go down to her stomach and tried not to acknowledge it, biting back a faint smirk. She smiled when he spoke, laughing "Of course not! You can still make it," she said, patting his shoulder. "I'm running for homecoming queen, so vote for me," she said with a grin, poking his arm. She wasn't certain she would win, but it would be really cool if she could. "Oh you definitely could," she said with a hint a playfulness.
