He blatantly asked showing no emotion at all. After a few seconds he couldn't hold the serious and smiled. "What movies are out?" He asked turning back to face the front window.

"What? No!" Payton said laughing looking over at him at a red light. "You would know if I was asking you out on a date, and well that was not asking you out on a date." she said deep down knowing it was probably her asking him out on a date. "I'll have to check and see...maybe we can see a kids movie." she told him teasing him.

"Uh huh, whatever helps you sleep at night," Gale said smiling. He chuckled, "A kids movie?" he asked looking in the side mirror, he spotted a black non descriptive car following behind him. He decided not to worry about it and turned back to Payton.

"Yeah like that movie Frozen. I heard that was cute." Payton said smiling looking in the rearview mirror seeing the black car behind them. Tapping her hand on the steering wheel as she changed lanes trying to see if they were following them.

"Sure, I like movies like that." Gale said. He let the silence fall between them before speaking again. "Still doesn't mean you aren't asking me on the date." He said jokingly as he noticed the way she changed lanes, hoping it wasn't due to the black car. It stayed in the other lane for a few miles before moving over behind them, though they were several cars back.

Payton kept glancing in her rearview mirror not sure what was going on. Listening back to the conversation she was having with Gale laughing. "Going to the movie as friends, it's not a date. Sorry to disappoint you." she told him smiling.

Gale shrugged "Not disappointed. Somewhat" He said chuckling to himself as he took a glance at the side view mirror again. He wished he could tell them to back off before she took note of how close they were following. As if they hear his thoughts the black car backed off a bit, almost disappearing behind several cars and was no longer visible to Gale. He let out a sigh of relief.

Noticing the black car was no longer there she felt relieved taking her time driving them now. She glanced at him with a smile, "You're disappointed. If you want to go on a date with me, all you have to do is ask." she told him smirking a bit.

Gale laughed "But it's the new age, why not the girls ask?" He said trying not to laugh. "Maybe I will ask you, maybe I will just keep the teacher student relationship." He joked knowing that was already broken seeing as they were going to have a meal together and a movie later on.

Gale stared at the menu, knowing a few items that he knew he didn't like. He looked at what she was pointing and made a decision. "Alright. Lets hope this doesn't fail. Or you'll be sorry." He teases putting the menu to the side.
