"Hey I like being an overachiever. Keeps me away from the parties and stuff." Payton told him blushing slightly. "Eh I guess it's impressive." she said with a small smile as she started to walk outside. "Me too, have you tried to climb up that mountain we have here in the nature preserve?" she asked him holding the door open for him.

"Uh, so your not a party girl," Gale said nodding slowly. He had met a few girls here already and most of them liked to party. "Well, I get a few A's and such, but most of my grades are just above an eighty percent," he shrugged wishing he could be like her and do homework ahead of time, but he wasn't going to start today. "No I haven't, though I have thought about it." Knowing he wouldn't be able to, without alarming a few people.

"We should totally go some time. I've done it before it's a lot of fun, and it has a pretty cool view once you reach the top." Payton said with a smile as she walked over to a shaded tree taking a seat.

Gale took a seat near her, but not too close. "I might one of these days, before I graduate." He said, looking forward to that day since he began this year.

"You totally should. I'll go with you." Payton said smiling looking over to him. "So what do you like to do?" She asked realizing she was talking a lot about herself and not really about him.

Gale nodded and smiled and wondered if he would be able to climb the mountain. "Oh lots of things, hiking, horseback riding, anything to do outdoors." He said feeling the pair of eyes watching him again. "What do you like to do, besides homework." He teased.

Payton nodded twirling her hair as she thought, "Well pretty much the same thing except for horseback riding...haven't tried that. I like to sing as well." she added with a small smile. "I love music actually, I sing and play the piano classical of course." she told him.

"Awesome, you are going to have to play for me one day," Gale said remembering how much his real mother loved music and wanted to learn to play the piano. "I wished I had learned an instrument." He said, just for her sake he would.

"Sure I'd love to." Payton told him smiling looking down at the grass underneath her feet. "Hey, it's never to late to learn, I could always teach you if you want to play the piano." she offered him. "It's really not that hard once you know which key is which and stuff and work your way up to the more difficult pieces." she told him.

Gale considered learning piano, though he felt bad that she would have to take time out of her day to do so. "I'd love to, but I don't want to inconvenience you," He said wondering if they could a trade of some sort.

"You wouldn't inconvince me not at all. I think it will be kinda fun." Payton told him with a smile. "We could do like an hour one or twice a week if you want." she told him thinking about her schedule which she would probably be able to do twice a week if he wanted to.

Gale nodded "Is there something I can do for you? You know as a barter trade." He asked, suggesting that she say yes, even if it wasn't anything big, he wanted to help her out.

"Well, lets just think about it. Whenever there is something you need, I can help you with it." Gale said thinking this was a good deal. "So when do we start?" He asked, feeling eager to learn.

"Alright I will do." Payton said nodding and looked at her watch, "Well if you're free for about an hour I can start with you now." she said smiling looking back to him.

Gale smiled "Yes I have time," He said looking quickly at his watch to confirm. He didn't have another class for two hours.

"Alright well lets go then." Payton said standing up, this would be fun she loved music, and she loved teaching it to other people especially kids. "I'll just teach you the basics today." she said waiting for him to stand up so they could make their way to the music department.
