Derrick doesn’t come off as a nice person. Not at all. He’s a cold brute. Well, actually… he’s more of a burnt marshmallow: black and hard on the outside, but warm and gooey on the inside. Cliché? Yes. But, it’s how he is. Considering his horrible past, there really wasn’t anything he could do about it. It was just how things happened to work out.

At first glance, he doesn’t come off as the type of person you’d just… go and become friends with. But he’s actually rather friendly the first time you talk to him. He can joke around and whatnot, but, he does everything in his power to make sure he doesn’t get too attached to others. But…. After that, he just drifts off a bit and tries to avoid the person. He doesn’t like talking to people twice. It’s strange, but he has his own reasons.

When it comes to talking about himself, he’s skilled in turning the conversation around so that it’ll be about the person on the other side of the conversation, not him. His past is too horrible for him to remember, and for the most part he just blocks it out. He tries not to get interested in other’s lives either, especially girl’s. He doesn’t want to get in a relationship ever and fears the day he even remotely likes a girl.

If he gets too close to somebody, he usually freaks out and entirely avoids that person. He’ll do anything he can to stay away from them and so they stay away from him. He does this because he’ll become too protective of those people. He can’t stand being close to people; he can’t rely on others. He just can’t.

Derrick is extremely short-tempered. He gets easily mad over little things and flips out about them. He breaks things and has panic attacks, or nervous breakdowns. It makes it hard for people to get close to him, and he doesn’t mind. The good thing is that he doesn’t hold a grudge usually. When he gets mad at people he usually finds a way to fix things, but he can be hesitant to apologize to certain people.

All in all, he’s extremely fucked up and doesn’t really like people.

Derrick Lewis Stark was born on September 20, 1995, to young parents, Erin and Thomas Stark. He was a good kid, although he was very naïve. Regardless, his childhood was very normal and nothing bad really ever happened. He was an adorable little baby that was sweet and lovable. That was, of course, until his parents got into a freak car accident. Everything changed. At first, he was supposed to go to foster care, to rot, most likely. Fortunately, his grandmother swooped in and saved him from the tragic life of foster care.

Although his grandmother was amazing to him and cared for him dearly, he wasn't the same old little cutie he used to be. He became cold for a very long majority of his life, and constantly blocked people out. His grandmother was worried, and wanted him to get some help, although it never happened, sadly. As he got older, he became reckless. 

It was only when he almost got sent to a juvenile detention center that he finally stopped his recklessness, which meant, no more drugs or alcohol or trespassing for him. He was only fourteen. He started to clean up his act, but because of that, he became more and more withdrawn from other, typically keeping his private life, private. However, since his sweet grandmother thought the public school he went to was bad for him, she sent him off to California to finish his high school career.
