Chris was walking out of class. He was more confident than usual. He began to feel like his brother in a way. He made fun of the teacher, by accident, and people seemed to laugh. People actually started to talk to him. He didn't feel like the loner kid who reads all day anymore. HE felt cool. It was also good, because a lot of people knew his brother who ran track last year. They all seemed to want to chat with him, about his brother. His whole life he felt like he was hiding in his brothers shadow, but now he didn't feel that way.
He felt happy not to have his brother there, and was happy to start breaking out of his turtle shell. He liked to be involved with people. He was happy. He had a huge grin on his face. It was his free period so he was walking out to the school courtyard. In the courtyard they had benches, plus tons of plants that Earth Club took care of. It was peaceful out there. He heard the birds chirping all the time there. HE liked it out there.

Bunny was walking around aimlessly. She didn't really know where she was going...but she wasn't necessarily lost per say. She was watching clouds in the sky as she walked slowly, every once in a while glancing down to make sure she wasn't going to run into another person...or worse, a wall. She already did that once...it didn't need to happen again.
Taking her eyes off the sky, she found herself in the school courtyard. Deciding that it was dangerous to keep walking and not looking in front of her, Bunny quickly scanned the area around her, smiling at all the science in action that surrounded the courtyard. Birds fluttered in the trees, one of her favorite types of science. Since she really had nothing else to do for a little bit, she made her way over to a bench and sat down so she could observe the birds above.

Chris noticed a girl sit next to him. She was paying attention to something. He looked up and saw all the birds above, chirping, and flying high in the sky. "Hi I'm Chris." he said nervously. He knew he and to overcome shyness. He looked at her. She had a good vibe about her.

Bunny jumped slightly and turned her head sharply. She gasped and put a hand to her chest. "Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry I didn't even see you there!!" she said with wide eyes. She shook her head and took in a deep breath, "I can't believe I didn't even see you there. I was too busy paying attention to the birds!"
Realizing he had introduced himself, Bunny smiled, "My name is Nanette, but you can call me Bunny. Nanette is just such a long name." she held out her hand for him to shake.

Chris gave a little laugh. He shook her hand. "didn't mean to scare you there. Are you a Freshman?" he asked. He was a freshman, and he was definitely looking for some more friends.

Bunny shook her head. "Junior...but I feel like a freshman since I just moved in a few months ago." She thought for a minute, "I don't think i have talked to a freshman yet...how are you liking high school?" she asked while glancing back up at the song birds.
They were brightly colored, and she just had to get a picture of them. Quickly reaching into her bag, she pulled out a fairly large black camera and started fiddling with it.

"Its different." he said. " so- uh where did you move from?" he asked curiously. He watched her pull out a large black camera. " Are you into photography?" he asked. He liked to take pictures, but he never thought of taking up as a full-time thing. He looked up to all the bright color birds chirping away,

"Just different?" she asked, raising her eyebrow. "Nothing like...spectacular! Or...amazing!! No?" she frowned as she lifted the camera to check the focus. "I'm from Maine...super cold...but there was some pretty good food there!" she grinned.
"Not really, I just like pictures. You should see my room, I have so many pictures of wildlife, it's ridiculous!" she smiled as she lifted the camera to the birds and zoomed in, then started snapping pictures."I used to take them with my phone...but my dad bought me this when we moved over since there are so many song birds."

"I haven't had the high school experience yet." he said flashing her a goofy smile. "Maine, that must be cool. You came so far." he said. Maine was far away from Tidewater High, but so was were he came from, New York. "Oh that's cool. Wait until you decide to go diving. There is so much fish, and aquatic plants when you dive, its pretty cool." He remembered when he went diving. He had the best time ever. It was so much fun.

Bunny smiled as she took the camera away from her face and started looking through the pictures.
"So, where are you from?" she asked him as she deleted a few. "Diving...that sounds like fun, I would have to water prof a camera I think...and that may be hard. I was always into Ornithology in Bio...so I think I have a bias." she giggled to herself.

"I'm from Ney York." he said. He watched her delete some pictures. "They have cheap waterproof cameras, though they are never good." He looked around. Not many people were around the courtyard. Most people go out, or are getting homework done. Sometimes Chris just liked to go to some peace and quiet. He never minded a good conversation though.

She blinked and thought for a moment. "I may have to look into that." She sighed as she looked at the pictures, "Do you want to see some of them?" she asked holding her camera out to him. "O trust that you wont drop it." she grinned.

Chris looked at her and took the camera. He pretended to drop it, but it was firmly grasped in his hands. "Oh no." he said jokingly. He looked through the images. "These are really good." he said in amazement while looking at the photos. " Good job, you pretty good at photography." he said with a smile handing the camera back to her.

Bunny narrowed her eyes, then stuck her tongue out at him. She took the camera back and switched it to the picture mode and started taking pictures of Chris. "Thanks! Some of my favorites are the frog ones. Some of my friends back in Maine told me I should go into photography...but I have no idea what I want to do. This is just a hobby." she said giggling as she kept taking pictures of him.

Chris laughed as she took pictures of him. "Do I make a good model?" he asked jokingly. He did a few fake poses for her. Some of them he couldn't help but to laugh. She made him laugh and msmile. He knew that they probably would end up being good friends.

"Of course!" she said with a giggle and started looking through the pictures. She hummed as she deleted a few that had come out blurry then showed him the first couple of picture she took. She grinned, "You make a very good model!" sure enough, the pictures were all nice and clear with vibrant colors. The ones with him posing and laughing lit up on the small screen of the camera. "I can develop these if you want." she smiled at him, before handing him the camera so he could look closer.

Bunny clapped her hands together. "Perfect! I'll get these done once I get a job all squared away and everything." she said excitedly. She smiled as she rubbed at her head, almost for a minute forgetting that there was none. "So, have you been participating in spirit week?" she asked as she turned slightly to lean against the tree which was very close to the bench.

"No, not really. I just wore all blue today, because I figured I would show some school spirit." He said. This was the first time this week he was participating in spirit week. "What about you?" he asked curiously.

Bunny giggled. "I wore giraffe pajamas on the first day, then leg warmers and zebra tights for the flashback." she said smiling. "And as you can see, I am wearing school colors today too! which is weird...because I never used to participate in spirit week." she said thinking back to her old school for a little bit.
