"I suppose that's good enough," Lewis said to himself while he fixed his hair in the mirror. He wore it straighter than usual, more orderly. It only made since with the rest of his outfit. Dress to look the part of the date. He wouldn't just go half way and wear something mediocre. He then pulled his mask on over his face. It immediately seemed like any of his attempts to style his hair was rendered meaningless. That was a waste of time.
He checked the clock while he pulled on his shoes with a long sigh. Fifty dollars was his prize for the night, but he had gone and spent more than that on everything he had bought for tonight. He'd have to hustle somebody at pool or something to make up for it. Maybe he could slip away and get a game of beer pong going back at his dorm later. Something. Lewis didn't have the money for this.
He walked upstairs to the rooms that the girls were located and knocked on Winnie's door. He had bought her a little gold and black corsage that he thought would go well with her dress. That was the custom, so he had been told. He didn't know. As he stood at the door all Lewis feared was that it was too much.

Winnie sat in front of her roommates mirror, she agreed to let her do her hair and makeup if she could live vicariously through her tonight. She would have to tell her roommate every detail about this night and not leave anything out.
She looked at herself in the mirror, not even recognizing herself and this was before the mask was on. She took a deep breath and sighed. Why did she say yes to Lewis? She shook her head as a knock at the door sounded.
"Coming!" She called as she grabbed her mask abd clutch and opened the door. She smiled "hey," she said thinking he did look good in that outfit.

Whoa. Lewis' mouth opened a little when he saw her. He covered that up instantly with a little 'Hey'. He had seen the dress on facebook but this was the first time he was actually seeing it on her. It was... different from what he pictured Winona ever wearing. "Y-You look good." He stammered out. "Beautiful even. But ah.. You don't need a dress in order to do that." He swallowed hard and looked away from her. The compliment that he had for her at their first meeting would always stand. He reached for the corsage and held it out to her. "Look. I bought you one of these wrist flower things."

Winnie blushed deeply, obviously the makeup didn't cover that up. She looked down at her dress, smoothing out the fake wrinkles she saw before realizing she hadn't put her mask on "right, mask" she said quickly placing her mask on making sure it didn't mess up her hair.
Winnie looked down the corsage and smiled, no one did that for her, ever. She held out her right hand. "Thanks," she squeaked looking away.

"Welcome." he simply stated. He offered his arm to her. It wasn't a far walk between the two buildings with the dance just being in the Gym. He cleaned out his truck in case she's rather they drive there. It wasn't the most fashionable of rides, but Lewis didn't have the money to splurge. Lewis looked down to her feet. "You okay walking in those or would you rather.." he rubbed the back of his head uneasily. "I can drive us around the building."

Winnie awkwardly took his arm and stepped out of her dorm room, closing the door behind it. She didn't lock it since her roommate was in there, she was sure she could handle that part. "Ummm," She said looking down at her feet, lifting her dress up. They weren't flats by any means and she wasn't used to heels all that much. "No I am sure I will be fine walking," She said thinking it would be awkward for her to step out of the car in this dress. If her feet hurt she could always take off her shoes.

"Alright just be careful," he warned. He started walking to the venue, leading her along the way. Lewis didn't want to see Winnie falling on her face before the night was up. That was just part of the reason why he supported her with his arm. "We don't have to stay all night if you get tired," he pointed out. "I'd be fine with just a few dances and then leaving." That was all he really needed. A few dances. A few pictures. And a little bit of profit. His interest in the dance had grown since the initial asking, but he'd only stay for as long as Winnie wanted to.

Winnie smiled but on the inside she felt like he was being a little too overprotective. She may be a loner, but she could take care of herself. She shrugged, it really depended on how the night went, if she really enjoyed herself she might stay. Otherwise a night in watching anime and writing her fanfiction was never a bore for her. "Sure, lets see how it goes." She said wondering if he was already to dump her now and move on to another girl pretty than she.

Lewis walked her into the gym and gave a quick look around the room for any sign of his friend. He said he'd be in a green mask, but the quick scouting of the crowd and Lewis didn't see him quite yet. He looked back to Winnie and pointed to the dance floor. "I can't dance, but with this mask on at least they don't know who they'll be laughing at." Lewis did try to learn. He wanted to fulfil his promise thta this would be her best night ever. But he'd save that for some big romantic moment. Girls like that. "Or do you want to find one of your friends first instead so we can mingle?" he asked. She was bound to have somebody else attending this thing.

Winnie looked around the gym, not seeing anyone she knew or recognized for the most part. Haven wasn't there and she wasn't sure if he would even show up. She frowned, thinking how dull it would be without him. "I don't mind dancing. No one I know is here yet." She didn't want to admit she didn't have many friends and noticing even Rosco wasn't there, she suddenly felt alone.

"Same," he admitted. "I really hope at least one of my guys shows up." As of now, Lewis was fearing that his friend bailed out of the bet. They weren't the type to go to these types of things. Most of his friends were just staying inside their dorms to go on a massive raid. He didn't care too much for meeting her friends or anything, not really picturing them to hang out or something too much in the future. Lewis would have liked it. He reached out and took both of her hands so he could lead her out onto the dance floor and walked backwards.

Winnie half smiled, she wondered if his friends were like him, big into the game Magic and everything. Were they big into fandoms or fanfiction?" She began to worry herself, thinking they wouldn't like her at all. Then she shook her head thinking that was silly of her, it wasn't like she and Lewis were dating. She smiled as he took her hands, moving them both to the dance floor. She giggled a little, hoping he wouldn't make fun of her white girl moves.
