Lewis laughed at her. Not hard or anything, but he did chuckle. He had felt the same way only minutes ago. "You were about to ask me to the mall," he offered. Mentally, he high-fived himself for that one. He could be smooth if he really, really tried. But it made him also feel a bit, he couldn't place it, like a douche. This whole thing was starting to weigh on him. Winona was a sweet girl and Lewis didn't want her to get the wrong idea. "The soft pretzels there are really great." And this weekend was the pre-release for the new magic packs. Maybe, if he was lucky, the game shop would allow him a sneak peek.

Winnie looked up at him then looked down at her outfit, wondering if she was really wanting to go, then again the mall always had the video game store. "You... You are right." She said pointing at him, blushing deeply. "Scary how you can read my mind," She said holding up her finger to him. She slowly nodded her head "So are you being serious about the mall?" She asked thinking that was just to get her over her sudden outburst. "I mean, you don't have to just because..." She said looking back down to the floor.

"I'm the best mind reader in town," he laughed. "I was thinking about going professional with it. Could make my own little side show." He was glad that it seemed to calm her down though. He liked it a lot more when she wasn't fumbling all over her words. "I was planning on going to.." Not the game shop. Something that most girls found to be attractive. Something that wouldn't make her look at him and call him out as a nerd. But he wanted to see the new deck! "I heard that some of the stores were hiring, so I wanted to get a job at a store that would be willing to work around my school schedule. If you don't mind me picking up a few applications while we're out." Not that he really wanted to work at the mall. "I'm totally serious though."

Winnie softly smiled softly, trying hard not to laugh. "Oh really now, mind reader," She said moving her hands around as if she could actually do magic. "I am sure everyone at this school would pay to see you perform," She continued to tease. Winnie cringed, the thought of walking around with him while he grabbed applications sounded boring. "Well if I do go, I plan to hang out at the Game store, grabbing applications for work sounds boring," She teased as she grabbed the doorknob to her dorm room. "But uh, good luck with that." She added.

Lewis frowned. He should have just went on with talk of the game store. "Well I was going to stop by there." He told her as a grasp to keep her interested. He really was. "It's pre-release weekend for a game I play." Lewis probably should have just told her that in the first place. "So... if you don't mind stopping in on a bunch of neckbeards and guys that probably have not showered in the past two days. I really want to draft the new set over there." His friends were not the type that most people liked to admit to hanging out with.

"What game?" Winnie asked, a smirk on her face as she crossed her arms over her chest. She wondered if it was the new Magic deck, she heard it was being released soon, it was the only game she could think of. "I usually ignore them until I have to check out," She informed him, having dealt with many of those guys before, most thought it was amazing that she would walk in there. She on the other hand thought it was stupid that girls couldn't be gamers. "Um, give me a minute okay?" She said, moving to close the door behind her.

"Magicthegathering," he mumbled. It wasn't an obsession he was proud of. But there was just something that came from opening the packs. The rush of finding a Jace or other plainswalker. It was weird to talk about it so openly to a girl. Lewis stood outside the room swaying on his feet while he waited for her to.. probably change and do whatever girls did before they got ready to go out someplace. He looked around the hall for some type of reflective surface but was unable to find one. He just shrugged and ran his fingers through his hair enough so it was shaggy mop he was used to. He also unbuttoned his sports coat.

Winnie rushed around her room taking off her yoga pants and putting on a pair of dark blue jeans. She quickly grabbed a light blue t-shirt with a deep v-neck though she still wore her white tank underneath. Winnie ran her brush through her hair a few times before grabbing her purse throwing it over her shoulder and grabbing her keys she opened the door. "So you kike magic huh?" She asked as she closed the door behind her and locked it.

"I got into it in sixth grade. One of my friends introduced me." Most of his cards were back at home, but that didn't mean there wasn't a small fortune of cards back under his bed at his dorm. Lewis had a lot of cards and a lot of expensive cards. "Do you?" There were not that many girls that played the game. He started walking down the hallway slowly, turning to make sure she was following him. Lewis could drive out to the mall but he did just meet this girl. "We can take the bus if you want. I drive, but my car is a mess." He was sure he could make a bit of room in the midst of all the crap inside of it.

Winnie shrugged, she had witnessed the game being played several times but never had any interest in it. "Honestly, not really." She said knowing a few of her friends had tried to get her interest by buying her packs, they were of course in a binder in neat little organized slots, just like her Pokemon and Yugioh cards. She followed him, keeping in step with him in the hallway though there were moments that she stepped out of the way for the other girls to pass by. Winnie shrugged again, "We could always take my car," She suggested holding up her keys.

Oh. She drove. Lewis had automatically assumed because she was younger that she wouldn't drive. Everyone at this school probably drives. He just laughed at the assumption he made. "That we could do. I'll split you money for the gas, or we can get something to eat." Lewis would find some way to pay her back. "As long as you promise not to ditch me there. I don't think I can handle the walk home again." Because he once stayed there up until the buses shut down leaving him no way to get back to the dorm. That was a long walk and Lewis barely had the energy to get to class the following day.

"Food sounds too much like a date," Winnie mumbled hoping he didn't hear so she could say something else. She wasn't sure what this was, they didn't really know each other so this wasn't a friend out going, so she was slightly confused. "I promise not to ditch you, as long as you don't embarrass me." She teased as they exited the dorm and headed towards the parking lot.

Lewis cast a nervous glace towards Winnie. With the friends that he had, there was no telling what he would come across. Him he could control, but his friends were another matter. Also, judging on what he saw from Winona so far it was very easy for her to get embarrassed and blush. He would need to take it easy and refrain even more from being his normal goofy self. Winona would never become friends with the guy that was really Lewis. It didn't matter in the end. He only needed her for that one night. Playfully he lifted his hand and placed the other upon his heart. "Winona, I promise you that I will not do anything that will embarrass you." That included not mentioning anything that could make this remotely date like.

Winnie let the silence fall between them, she wasn't the type of girl that needed to talk all the time. Silence was needed sometimes, though she wondered if he thought she was weird for not talking. When he promised not to be embarrassing. "I'm joking, honestly I embarrass myself all the time." And she really did though it was more around her real friends.

Lewis laughed awkwardly. He had no idea where to even begin when it came to understanding this girl. He just felt stupid. "So what games are you interested in? Platform, Sim, FPS, MMORPG?" He knew a few girls from a game he played online. So it wasn't shocking that there was a girl that was remotely intereated in games.

"Oh I like to okay all of those," Winnie said wondering if he was going to judge about her being a gamer. "Right now I'm addicted to playing the Assassins Creed series," she said knowing she was a little late joining that bandwagon but she liked putting all her effort into a game which took time. She walked up to a black 2013 Mercedes and unlocked the door, sliding into the driver seat she buckled up and turned the car, waiting for Lewis to join her.

"The Creed games are cool looking. I tried once on the PC but after failing to get a grasp of the controls, I haven't touched it sense." He would love to, but the game didn't interest him as much now as it did back a few years ago, even with the new ones that were coming out.
That car was certainly unexpected. He tried not to look at it too much and make a huge scene over it. Winona's car was much better than the dinky truck that Lewis bought from his neighbor years back. A lot of the students had all these really nice cars. And then there was Lewis' which stood out. He slid into the car carefully and propped his arm up on the armrest. With a nice car like this, she better have been a good driver. Lewis wasn't ready to end his life just yet.

"The controls are difficult at first, which is why I just forgot the main objective and ran around a lot to get the hang of it," Winnie said knowing she died so many times trying to jump from house to house and not get caught. She wished she could actually be the person you played, 'how cool would that be' she thought. "Seat belt please," Winnie said as she buckled herself in on her side. She didn't care if people thought it was uncool, the last thing she wanted was a ticket or a death on her hands because of it. She turned on the car, checked her mirrors and her surroundings before slowly pulling out of the parking spot.

"Oh, of course," he told her, snapping on the seat belt over his chest and sitting back in the seat. He was careful not to mess anything up in the car. Lewis was nervous that he'd go and do something stupid that would end up scratching the interior. He just kept his hands in his lap and looked out the window, for a bit of the car ride. He didn't need to keep people talking in order to be happy. As long as they were happy, he was fine. He hoped that Winona was alright with everything that happened. He sat in his own thoughts. Now he would need to buy something to wear to the dance. He probably shouldn't go with his normal outfit of sport coats and band tees. Even what he had on now wasn't all that nice when he started thinking about it. He knew next to nothing about what was in or not. Of course, Winona never did give him a straight yes either.

After a few minutes on the road Winnie turned the radio on, but turned the sound down. "So, if I say no. Do you plan on knocking on some other girls door?" She asked feeling curious. She still didn't understand why he had done it, and if she ever found out she would desert him at the mall as payback. She wasn't even sure where to start if she actually accepted his offer, she knew no one else would ask her. Did she get the dress first? So they could match? Winnie shuddered at the thought of matchy matchy couples and shook the thought out of her head, but she did decide the dress would be first. If she decided to say yes.
