Bunny bounced up to the mail boxes of the residence hall. She hummed as she opened her rooms designated box and looked into it, finding an envelope nestled there. She took it out and found her name written across it in her Mothers' neat scrawl. She smile lightly as she locked the box and head out into the sun outside. As she walked she opened the letter and pulled out the paper. She frowned, why was there so much paper? She unfolded it and read the first couple of lines. Her eyes widened as she stopped in her tracks. Her blood suddenly ran cold as she shifted through all the papers and read through the paper work. "What....?" she whispered, her hands trembled. Her mother couldn't do that...could she?! As she shifted through the papers another smaller envelope fell out from them, but she didn't see it fall. She shook her head and clasped a hand over her mouth.
She was ALONE in California now...her family just left her, and weren't paying for her tuition, nor for a way to get back to Maine where they moved too...and they completely cut her off. She grabbed her phone from her pocket to check it, the papers said her contract would be discontinued yesterday, but she hadn't needed to use her phone all day, now that she looked at it, her service was completely off. She squeaked before running over to the court yard, leaving the small envelope that had fallen on the ground.

Danny had been walking in the courtyard, on his way to the mail boxes to check to see if his mother had sent him and his brother a check for food, when he noticed happy little Bunny walking outside. A big smile curved his lips as he started to make his way over to her, but stopped when she had a look that screamed 'my life is over'. His brows knit together in concern as he watched her run to the court yard, dropping a small envelope to the ground. "Wait! Bunny!" he called, dashing to grab the envelope first before running after her. Usually he wasn't one to meddle in other's personal lives in any shape or form, but seeing his friend have such a horrified reaction to something as simple as a letter, there had to be something to it. When he caught up to her, he gently grabbed her hand, a look of concern pasted on his face. "Heya...um..what's wrong? Or you okay? What happened?"

Bunny was shaking as she shook her head, before she suddenly felt a hand on hers. She gasped and turned to look at Danny. Quickly rubbing away tears that were blurring her eyes, she put a smile on her face. "It's...uh...nothing..." she shook her head again. She sighed before slumping into one of the benches in the courtyard, taking out the papers again. She stared at them for a moment before looking up at Danny, her eyes watering against her will.

Danny's eyebrows furrowed together as he looked at her, knowing perfectly well that it wasn't nothing. He sat down next to her, taking the papers when she handed them to him. He took out the other envelope, "You dropped this, by the way," he said, handing it to her before turning his attention down to the letter she handed him. He cocked his head to the side a bit, his eyes running over the words while his brain tried to let them seep in. His eyes grew wide as he continued, finally understand why his friend was in so much emotional pain. "Aw Shit, Bunny," he said, holding the papers loosely in his hand as he used the other to scratch the back of his neck. He let out a sigh, not really sure of what to do or say, but instead turned to her and just pulled her into a hug. "It's going to be okay. WE are going to working something out and make sure that you are okay. I promise," he said, his voice growing soft as he hand ran a circle on her back.

Bunny took the envelope gingerly and stared at the front of it. "I just...I can't believe she would do that. I knew she didn't like me...but to cut me out of everything? And my father..." she sobbed, "did he even try?!" She cried into Danny's shoulder, wrapping her arms around his back. "What do I do?" she whispered, clutching the other envelope tightly in her fist.

"Shhh....It's going to be okay," Danny said softly as he held her close, allowing her to bury her face into his shoulder. He didn't know exactly how he could help her, but he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that she was okay. "I can help you get a job. I work at Target. It's really not....the best job, you know? But it helps. Plus you can get emancipated, which will allow you to pretty well be almost considered as an adult," he said, chewing on his bottom lip as he tried to figure everything else out. "Well, um, how are your grades?"

Bunny slowly sat up, her make-up was running as she wiped at her eyes. She rubbed them, trying to get the wetness away, but irritating them. Small little red crescent moons were dug into the backs of her hands and palms as she rubbed. "I...my grades are pretty good." she sniffled. "I mean...I do my best so I'm in the A range." she hiccuped.

"Hey," Danny said softly, rubbing his thumbs once under her eyes to help clean her make-up. She gave her a slight smile, hating to see her so sad. Who in the hell could do that to their own child? How could her family be so heartless? Even with how shitty his parents were, they would never do this to him. Ever. "We can talk to the principal about you getting a scholarship here, so your room and board will be taken care of. In the meantime, I will take care of everything to make sure that you are okay."

Bunny nodded, before looking down at the now crumpled envelope. "DO you think the principle would help?" she asked softly, picking at the skin around her painted nails. She looked up at him, he eyes were huge. "You are way too good of a friend for me." she whispered softly, another tear leaking out of her eye.

Danny nodded encouragingly, giving her a little smile. "Of course he would. What is he going to do? Let a brilliant mind leave his school to be homeless? Pretty sure that's like illegal or something. Plus, I'm on the guy's good side. I've known the principal since I was little, since he's pretty good friends with my dad. He has a big heart," He said, wrapping his arms around her comfortingly. "You're my best friend, Bunny. I'm not going to watch you suffer." Danny was the kind of guy that took friendship seriously, and would be more than happy to go to the ends of the earth to help them.

Bunny nodded jerkily. Sniffing violently, she wiped at her eyes again. "I'll...I'll try to set up an appointment with him soon." she scratched at the red marks on the back of her hand. "I'm...so...happy that I have...a friend like you....Danny." she said in between gasps for breath as she tried to get her breathing even. She looked down at the envelope that she was still clutching in her hands. She turned it over and opened it, then pulled out a piece of paper. Her hands started shaking as she un-folded it. She stared at the familiar handwriting of her father, more tears dripping down her nose as she tried to read it.
