Yulia crossed her arms and huffed. Her attempt to get close to Aaron looked like it was going to work, then suddenly failed after her brother arrived. And then there was Gale, another guy from Russia whom she seemed interested in, but Connar noticed her, and talked to her. She was just afraid he didn't like her.
Though, with Vlad around, that might have been impossible. She was sitting in the cafeteria, watching some random video on YouTube. She had just finished her fourth root beer float and showed no sign of stopping.
"Why the hell am I trying to get someone to like me? I'm not supossed to like anyone!" Seriously, why did she care? She only wanted to be friends with guys, just like at home, since most of the girls she met were self centered. But alas, she's had no luck. Either they wanted sex or nothing.

Pizza or a hamburger? It was the toughest choice of the day, and Eli wasn't sure how he was ever going to make it. He exhaled sharply, rolling his eyes and quickly grabbing a plate with a slice of pizza on it and dropping it onto his tray. He knew it wouldn't be enough and that he would probably end up coming back through the line for a hamburger anyways, so he didn't pause for long before grabbing one and sliding it onto the tray next to his pizza. He slid his student id through the cafeteria computer to pay for his food and picked up his tray, turning and scanning the cafeteria for a seat.
His eyes landed on a girl nearby with a half full drink glass in front of her, surrounded by three empty ones. He grinned and slid into the seat across from her, dropping his tray on the table. "I did that once," he said nodding towards the root beer float glasses, "Ended up with a killer brain freeze. I'm just saying."

Was this some kind of a pickup line? He must be desperate to get laid. She pulled out the straw and started drinking from the glass. When the brainfreeze came, she put her thump in her mouth and pushed it against the roof of her mouth.
"A little life hack: Put your thumb in your mouth and press it against the roof if you get brainfreeze."

Eli knit his eyebrows together in confusion as she pressed her thumb to the roof of her mouth. Did girls really still suck their thumbs in high school? He laughed when she spoke, finally understanding. "That's good to know," he said, nodding thoughtfully as he took a bite of his pizza, "You know, I've never actually heard that before."

Eli's eyebrows shot up when she spoke again, and he shook his head slowly as he finished chewing and swallowed his pizza. "I didn't know we had assigned tables here," he said with a shrug, "I was just trying to be friendly."
