Most kids were outside playing in the sun, or laying around on the grass absorbing cancer today. Winnie on the other hand hated being outside. She was light sensitive and wanted nothing more than to stay indoors and write her fanfiction and watch her shows. This was her life and she didn't want to venture away from it.
She sipped from her Doctor Who cup and hit play on her computer, watching her favorite episode of Sherlock Holmes for the five hundredth time it seemed, as she placed the bright blue Skull headphones onto her head to drown out the world around her. Even in the library it seemed to be crowded and loud and to Winnie, this was annoying.

Little did he know, Jacen was in a similar position. While he wasn't searching up his favorite fictional pairing on fanfiction.net, the library was too noisy to properly scan his biology notes, but he couldn't go back to his dorm-his roommate was even more of a distraction. He'd wandered around the library like a lost puppy for ten minutes before he realized he was just putting off asking someone if he could share a table.
He had to pick carefully. The boys who were crowded around a laptop were probably looking at porn, and wouldn't want to be disturbed. The table beside them was filled with girls who had hair insured for $50,000, and that was an even worse place for Jacen to sit. He finally settled with the table in the back with a lone female, who was absorbed into her own laptop. He approached cautiously and rested his heavy textbook on the corner of the table. "Excuse me, um, can I sit here?"

Winnie looked up, her face contorted into a look of disgust. Her eyes sent lasers with the meaning of 'Why dare you disturb me'. She looked down at the textbook, then around the library. She pressed pause, took her headphones off then cleared her throat.
"Sorry, repeat that one more. Since you know. I had headphones on and all. Couldn't quite hear you." She said though she was able to read his lips perfectly. She couldn't help but be a bitch about the situation.

Jacen almost walked away right then and there. Unprovoked hostility was something he didn't manage well with. But he didn't want to take his chances with any other group in the library, and he was already at the table, so he cleared his throat quietly and licked at his lips, before repeating himself. "I was wondering if I could sit here?" His eyes flickered to her Doctor Who cup, and a thin smile worked it's way onto his face.
"Let me guess, Nine was your favorite." It probably wasn't the kindest thing to say, considering there wasn't anything particularly wrong with Christopher Eccleston's portrayal of the Ninth Doctor like he'd insinuated, but he wasn't about to be stepped on by a girl he'd just met.

Winnie ignored his first question and narrowed her eyes at him, questioning if he was a true Whovian or just like some people she had come to find, just had jumped on the bandwagon.
"Actually, I really like number 4. His scarf is the shit. Number 9 isn't so bad. But my all time favorite is of course number one, he was of course, the first The Doctor," She said with a wicked smile. If he answered the way she hoped, she wouldn't have a problem with him taking a seat. Otherwise she would steal herself away, and he could have the table alone.

"Typical." Jacen rolled his eyes with a smile. "If we're picking favorite's by their outfits, then why leave out Ten? His Converse are iconic." It wasn't really a secret that Jacen had a bit of a crush on David Tennant-bUT ONLY AS THE TENTH DOCTOR, as he'd be quick to add. "I did like how they brought back the scarf for the Day of The Doctor, though. It was a really nice touch." He shrugged. Classic Who hurt his eyes whenever he watched it, but he could appreciate where his doctor came from. And he loved when they made references to the older material.
notes;; haha spoiler alerts if u havent seen the newer episodes

"Typical?" Winnie shot back quickly, narrowing her eyes once again, but she closed her mouth quickly not wanting a confrontation. "Converse are cool I guess," She said taking a ship of her tea and clearing her throat. "David Tennant did a wonderful job as a doctor," She admitted. There was a few minutes of silence before Winnie spoke again. "That seat is empty if you wish to take it." Though on the inside she was screaming to left alone as usual. ((Nah I don't watch it. I just have a bunch of friends that do, so I know a lot about it )

"The best job," Jacen corrected her gently, with a smug smile. If he were ever going to get into a verbal altercation, (which he wOULDN'T bc they're so out of his character) it'd have been over David Tennant and the Tenth Doctor. He sat down across from her, settling his really fucking childish what are you five years old jacen backpack onto the corner of the table, taking out a notebook with his math notes scrawled inside. "So, are you fan of all that...Superwholock? Or strictly Doctor Who?" He asked, barely looking up from his notes to pose the question.

Winnie just narrowed her eyes, not wanting to argue with a complete strange and was about to place her headphones back on her ears when he asked another question.
'Seriously, what is wrong with this dude! Why did I say it was okay?' she thought in her head as she placed the headphones back on her shoulders and took a deep breath. "I love all Superwholockians do." She said making up the word just then, she would make an instant blog about it on her fanfiction. "Are you?" She asked wondering if possibly, there was hope at this school.

The words in his notebook were incoherent chicken scratch to the boy. Not because of the actual handwriting, (Jacen's neat lettering was on point, as per usual), but because his mind wasn't concentrated on reviewing the quadratic formula again. He nodded, looking up to her. "Of course. I mean, Sherlock was quick and...relatively painless-" Haha Jacen. That's a freaking joke. "-and I'm not that far into Supernatural, but mm-" He made a satisfied noise. "-those Winchester Brothers can drag me along on a hunt any day."

Winnie lifted her right eyebrow at him. "Well, I know what team you swing for," She said under her breath with a sad sigh. The first time a boy shows the same interest as her and he was not for her team, rather he was on her team. "Sherlock fanfiction is the saddest thing to read." She said with smile, knowing her own fanfiction added to that sadness very much.

"What was your first hint?" Jacen asked, arching a pretty fricking perfectly groomed eyebrow. "I don't think I could pass for hetero even if I tried-or you know, wanted to." He shrugged, closing his notebook. There was no point trying to pretend like he was studying when it was fairly obvious he wasn't. "Ugh, right though? Any of those Reinbach-y ones kill me." The sophomore agreed, making a pained face.

Winnie slowly nodded, realizing she could have determined this with the first glance, but then again she was too busy being a bitch to take note. "You could say my Sherlock detectiveness isn't too keen as of yet," She said with a smirk. Winnie laughed. She actually laughed and surprised herself which is why she slapped her hand over her mouth and looked at the now very quiet library as everyone stared at her. She blushed and started sliding down to hide behind her computer.

"His deductive reasoning skills took years to hone, don't worry." Jacen said, waving it off. Not everyone had the eyes of the world's greatest and only consulting detective, of course. "You'll get there." He reassured gently, with a smile. Her laughed echoed through the library, and Jacen returned the laugh, his own much more quietly. "You have a nice laugh, you shouldn't be embarrassed by it." The boy encouraged, watching her slump down behind her laptop with her cheeks burning pink.

After the people stopped looking at her she sat up straighter, knowing she would hurt her back if she continued to sit like that. "Thank you, about not having honed in skill like Sherlock," She said, not really wanting to comment anymore on her laugh and the eyes that were watching her.

"Yeah, of course. We can't all be high-functioning sociopaths, y'know." He joked casually as she straightened up, not really wanting to be one even if he could. From the way the show portrayed them, at least, it seemed excessive brilliance was more of a hassle than anything else.

"Oh, I am not surprised my mother hasn't questioned that about me. I should probably be in a straight jacket to be honest," Winnie teased, noticing a few people turn at the conversation. She turned her attention back to her companion to which she realized she had no name for. "By the way, should probably introduce ourselves," She said though she didn't give her name up right away. Instead she waited for him to decide if they should or not. Leaving names out could lead to never seeing the person again, which Winnie wouldn't mind one bit, so far that is.

Jacen tried not to let himself gawk at the girl, not quite knowing how to respond to that, seeing as they'd only met a few minutes ago. He couldn't really reassure her that 'omg no way, you totally don't belong in a straight jacket!', because for all he knew...she just might. He was sidetracked from his thoughts by her, bringing up something he hadn't even considered until that moment. "Oh-sheesh, you're right. I'm Jacen," He rolled his eyes at himself for being so careless and forgetting to introduce himself.

Winnie was a mixture of emotions when he gave her his name, joy at knowing a possible friend, but fear of being burned yet again by a friendship that was more about the other person. "Winnie," She said with a smile, "We were just to enthralled with or fandoms." She said adding a bigger smile.

Jacen cracked a smile. Winnie. How freaking cute was that?? Like Winnie the Pooh! He didn't dare say it aloud, as he was sure it wouldn't be welcomed. He could only imagine how many times she'd gotten wisecracks about it, and he didn't want to add onto the pile this early in their relationship. "It happens-well, actually it doesn't. There aren't a lot of people around here open about their fandoms."
