Unusual for him, Chase Monroe was late to lunch that day. He'd been held back to discuss his 'grades' and 'attitude', both of which his teacher seemed to think were failing. It was just history, it didn't even mean anything. But the senior had nodded his way through the lecture, trying to resist the temptation to huff loudly, check his phone or stare at the clock on the wall behind the dude. Come onnnnnnn.
By the time he made it to the cafeteria, his normal spot had been taken over. Fucking rude, he briefly thought, rolling his eyes at his 'friends'. He glanced around the vast room, scanning for an empty spot for him to plop down and dig in, preferably with company. His eyes landed on a pretty blonde girl he vaguely recognized. Was she in his English class? Probably. No-wait. It had to be math. Yeah, that was it. She seemed like his best bet at the moment, so he made his way over and sat down across from her, slipping on one of his best smiles.
"Hey, um. You wouldn't happen to have the math homework, would you?" No-wait, that was lame. Chase laughed nervously. Did that still happen? Could he get nervous around women? Apparently...yes, he could. Weird. He shook his head ever so slightly and cleared his throat. "I'm sorry, wow. Uh, hi. I'm Chase, and you are really pretty, you know?" Damn, what a fucking loser way to start.
notes;; hi i'm sorry this is short and choppy as heck but shh i love u

Notes: The ship names are cool and I think its cute too and I love u to and no worries.
Dixie was looking down at her phone when she heard someone walk over and set down. "Oh hi" Dixie said glancing up at him. She shook her head. "Well see I kind of been busy moving from one job to another and other personal things that are going on so I don't really do homework till the last minute" she said. She took another bite of her cheese pizza as she watched him say what his name was. "I'm Dixie. You can call me Dix or whatever you want and thank you" she said with a small smile. She wasn't really used to people saying that to her but it just proff that there was srill semi nice guys around. She looked at him. "Let me guess. A teacher held you late and you needed to set somewhere and have small talk with someone you don't really know?" She said

"Damn, that obvious?" He chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair hesitantly. He'd been hoping his charade hadn't been so transparent, but evidently it had been exactly that. "You're really good," Chase added, as the intuitive blonde introduced herself. The tall male nodded as he listened to her speak, casually looking her over as she did. He was fairly certain he'd only seen her from behind, (he tended to find seats in the back of every class), and this view was much preferable. "Well, it's nice to meet you Dixie, regardless of the circumstances," He winked, picking at the cheese on his own slice. She had a cute, reserved smile; a smile that didn't make him feel unwelcome, so he remained glued across from her. "Moving between jobs? Whatcha doing now? Wait, let me guess, modeling, right?" Chase flirted, slipping a coy smirk onto his lips.

"I just know things" Dixie said to him with a small smile..she looked up at him. "I'm a singer at a diner" she said to him. "A model? I wish. I don't really have the body to do something like that" she said to him. "Plus I miss my old job" she said looking down at her food..she took a sip of her coke and then looked back up at him. He was cute and he was flirting with her. Well then she could deal with that for a little while. "So what got you in trouble?" She asked.

"That's pretty cool too." Chase admitted. "What was your old job?" He hadn't ever been to a singing diner, but he imagined it was better than sweeping stale french fries at a greasy fast food place, and apparently there was something better than that. "I could've sworn I was getting the model vibe from you." She definitely had the right body for anything-though, to be fair, Chase wasn't an expert on anything like that. He was just a teenage boy with an eye for pretty girls, and she fit that bill. He sighed melodramatically when she asked what had got him in trouble, and leaned his chin onto an elbow. "Being too handsome," He replied smugly, with a lazy grin. "It was distracting some of the other students, so the teacher asked me to tone it down a notch, you know, for their sake." He finished, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

Dixie laughed. "Well thank you" she said to him. She ran a hamd through her hair. "I like it though" she said watching him. "Well I can see where the girls or even guys would think you would be a distracting." Dixie said to him. She leaned closer to the table watching him with curious eyes. He was something else but she liked him.

"It's the price I pay for being beautiful," He shrugged it off, playfully. He was joking, of course. Chase wasn't much of a distraction, personally. His friends were the guys who would hoot and holler in class, so he usually got automatically grouped with them, even though he would just sit and shake his head. It was hard being the smartest in a group of idiots. But still, it was easier playing this card than owning up to being lazy and just not having completed his homework for the past month. "You must get plenty of that yourself," Chase quipped, letting his gaze drift down over the pretty girl slowly.

"Not really" Dixie said to him. "I keep to myself" she said looking at him. "Or I try to" she said. "Unless I get interupted by someone that's ha some as you" Dixie said to him. No it wasn't like he was a lot to look at but he was cute in his own way. She liked his personality. He could make her smile. She laughed. "Well then" she said as she finished eating her pizza.

"That's a shame," Chase teased, with a smile. "You should get out more," He encouraged grandly, his own food forgotten in the moment. "That way people like me don't have to accidentally stumble onto you during lunch and realize what we've been missing." He finished with a quirked brow and a deep smile, showing the crater dimples in his cheeks. As she completed eating her pizza, Chase feigned a small pout. "I guess this is goodbye then, eh Dixie?" He moped, sadly.

Dixie nodded. "Guess I should. This is my first year here and I only know a few people. So you could see why I wouldn't get out a lot. I don't have anyone to hang out with. Plus when people learn things about me they just look at me like I'm a bad person. I'm suprized you don't know me from the shark tank" Dixie said. She frowned. "So soon?" She asked. "Well I don't have anything to do now" she said.

"Then you should come hang with me," Chase offered causally, before knitting his brows together. The Shark Tank? Chase narrowed his eyes slightly. "That's the dumb blog that all the girls are raving about, right?" Chase asked, completely oblivious that his own name had graced the gossip rag at one point. He had better things to do than check out the latest rumors, even if they were all collected in one place. (or maybe worse things, seeing as he never did anything constructive with his spare time) "Sweet," Chase grinned. "So you'll stay and talk to me?"

Dixie nodded. "Yea that's the one. They said some pretty men things on there" she said to him. She smile. "Sure where would you like to go?" Dixie asked looking at him. She got up to throw her pizza away. She then put her tray up. She came back and stood looking at him.

"I'm sure whatever they said was just a bunch of bullshit," He reassured her, laughing it off. If it was anything like the other rumors he'd heard, it was something dumb like 'Dixie has cooties'. "I mean, I've never gone on there-waste of time, y'know? But yeah, they're just fishing for attention," Chase made a bored face, lifting his shoulders again, to both the idiocy of the Shark Tank business and her question. "We could hang out in my dorm?" He suggested lightly, with a cheeky grin.

Dixie nodded. She looked at him. "I just want to get this out in the open. I have a little girl who stays with some friends of mine about a block from campus. I can't keep her on campus." Dixie said looking at him. "my dad pays for me to come here" she said

Chase froze, the smile on his face glued in place while she spoke. As she finished, he nodded. Aiight. A kid wasn't so bad. At least she didn't have cooties, or whatever the sexual disease of the week was around here, and that was really the only thing that would've stopped him. "Does that mean you can't have a little fun?" He teased, relaxing back into his natural state.

"That's cool," Chase accepted it; it was very cool of her to give him a heads-up of sorts. It wasn't something most people liked to find out after they tried to get involved with someone-not that he was wanted to be involved with Dixie-I mean-well, um-He cut off his thoughts, standing up and discarding what was left of his lunch. He didn't have the stomach for greasy pizza today. "My roommate has class, so my room's empty. We could hang around and get to know each other better," It wasn't meant to be said so flirtatiously, but Chase had already winked before he realized what he was doing.

Chase cozied up against the blonde, putting a hand at the small of her back to guide her as they walked back to his dorm room. He was really glad his roommate actually went to classes more frequently than he did, so he could take advantage of moments like these without much worry. He fitted his key (or is it all electronic? it's prolly a card) into the slot and opened his door, pushing it open and holding it for Dixie to follow. "There's a chair by the desk, but believe me, the bed is much more comfortable,"
