Long time no blogging duckings. In my last post, I requested victims of the Shark Tank to express their side of the story. I got more people calling to me than I expected, to be honest.
This is what Captain said about Nanette "Bunny" Knight on his "Hot and Not" list. What's wrong with bald chicks? You can't just assume that someone is bald because they have cancer. I got to interview Bunny and hear what she had to say, and what he assumes is not the case at all.
Me: What was the first thing you thought when you read that post?
Bunny: I don't have cancer? I'm being serious! I don't! I mean...my mom got me tested after I cut my hair off... Well, she got me tested for cancer when I came home with no hair. She thought that the only logical reason was because i was sick in some way. I think she even had me tested for HIV. -_- Once my dad found out he put a stop to it though.
Me: So how did you really lose all of your hair?
Bunny: I cut it off. The person that was cutting my hair said it would make a good wig, so I donated it. Honestly, I hope it goes to an ACTUAL cancer patient. That's one of the reasons I did it.
Do you have a picture of your hair?
Look! It's my hair! I think I look better without it huh?
This is the wig that Bunnys hair was made into.
I hope it also went to a cancer patient, since you did it for them. What were your experiences like interacting with cancer patients?
I volunteered at a hospital over the summer since I want to go into biology medicine and what not, and I worked in the pediatrics ward...there were so many kids there with cancer, it was so sad. So I wanted to show them that I could be like them, so I cut off my hair for them. I was something that they had never seen before and it made me happy that they could smile again.
That is a really amazing thing to do to show those kids you care about them. Bravo. I think you're an inspiration to them and can be an inspiration to other people. Even without your hair, you're beautiful.
Hahahahaha! Yeah, you're right. I personally like not having hair, makes it cooler in this weather and shows off my earrings more. And thank you! That means a lot to me. I would love to try and start some fundraiser here for kids with cancer...but that would be really hard to start.
Once Bunny is able to kickstart her fundraiser, consider donating to her cause. She might make a page on kickstarter.com, which I will link here on another entry. Thank you Bunny for your story!
So people, being bald does not confirm that a person has cancer. Even if she did have cancer, the last thing Bunny would need is to be picked on. Children with cancer go through enough trouble. We need to raise their spirits up, not down. Don't say mean things about a person, especially if they're sick. You'll just make yourself look like an idiot.
Remember my ducklings, bald is beautiful.
Dem eyebrows on Jasmine though.
With Love,
Odile
Ew, who likes bald chicks? I hear she has cancer, but lied and said she "donated" her hair to Locks for Love. Lies! She's cancer. She's supposed to die in a few months. I can tell, with those chapped lips of hers and pale, pale skin, she can pass for dead already!
