"Oh wow, you mean you didn't drive your truck!?" Sophie said teasing him. "My dad can drive you home when we leave." she said letting out a sigh. "I hate hospitals, and the smell...smells like old people." she said scrunching her face a little bit.

He rolled his eyes and kissed her cheek. "I wasn't going to leave you alone and not know what was happening to my silly girl. I just want to be with you."

"Why? I'm such a weirdo, and I'm ugly right now." Sophie said teasing him leaning back in her bed again moving over patting her bed. "Come lay with me." she said looking to him.

He rolled his eyes and carefully got in bed next to her, "You look fine honey." he kissed her cheek and leaned back.

Sophie rested her head against his chest looking out the window, "I'm sorry if I cut your practice short." she told him nuzzling into him finding his scent was comforting to her. "You smell good." she told him laughing.

"Don't worry about that, I can practice later." he murmured and kissed the top of her head, laughing softly. "Glad you like the smell of my sweat." he teased. "Sweat and dust."

"Yeah, you were going for like a rustic nature smell." Sophie said laughing looking over watching her dad walk in with some food for her. "Here you go sweet heart." he said placing it down on the table next to her looking to Jake. "Thank you again for being there." he told him holding out his hand for Jake.

"Thanks, it's nice of you." he said with a smile watching them. "Sophie told me you two want to go on a vacation together. I want to let you know I'll pay for it...since everything you've done for my- our Sophie." he said correcting himself.

Jake blinked in surprise. "Oh sir, thank you, but I don't want to put a burden on you. I can figure out a way to pay for it." he spoke in the most polite way, not wanting to offend him.

"Oh stop it now, it's my treat. The way my daughter spends time with you, well the amount I should consider you family by now." he said smiling to Sophie. "It's already paid for, you two should go enjoy yourself." he said nodding.

Sophie giggled, "Aw Jakey Cakes." she said kissing his cheek. "Thanks daddy." she said kissing her dads cheek hugging him carefully.

Jake gently helped her sit up to hug her dad, resting his hand on her back worriedly.

Hugging her, letting her go helping her back down carefully kissing her forehead. "Rest, I'll be outside if you need me." he told her leaving the two alone. Sophie looked to the food moving it over towards her to start eating.

"Well then, no kisses for you miss ego bruiser." he frowned at her and rolled over so his back was to her, but as soon as she couldn't see him he just grinned, wondering if she would fall for the joke.
