Syra comes off as a sweet girl who has her heart on her sleeve, but that's just her facade. On the inside Syra trusts no one, not even her cousins. She holds in her true feelings and emotions, not wanting to be weak in front of others. She keeps in her secrets,  bottles them up, choosing to only write them down in her diary that she keeps with her at all time in a small backpack that's always with her, no matter what. Sometimes she feels as if she can truly trust no one, not even herself, she is twisted and tormented by her past.

When she was six her parents split, her mom taking off to become a big top model in France, leaving her with her father, who was always too busy working to truly take care of her, usually inviting his friend Peter McAllistar to babysit her after school, when he was busy working. What Syra's father didn't know, was that his friend had ulterior motives for watching his young daughter.

From ages seven to fourteen Peter would come over, under the guise of being a great babysitter, when in all reality he was molesting the little girl he promised to keep safe. Syra was too weak to fight back and never spoke a word. Peter telling her that he would hurt her and her father if she ever spoke a word. When the deed would happen, Peter would put masks on them, making it all seem like a game, even though Syra knew better. The sexual abuse was only able to stop when Syra's father decided she didn't need a babysitter anymore, which was around the same time when Peter conveniently got a job transfer to a law firm in South Dakota.

Syra has never told anyone, only her diary.

After that Syra found herself going out more. She started to smoke, normal cigarettes, pot, anything she could get her hands on, she has scars from the injections she's taken in the past.
Seeing his daughter fall down and destroy herself, her father panicked and shipped her off to be with her famous cousins, Aaron and Riell Candace. The cousins knew nothing of Syra's past except for the drug abuse and helped her get clean, Riell convincing her to join her band that she was thinking of making, getting her to become the bassist.
That all helped, Syra stayed sober and still is to this day, even though she can still hear the drugs calling out to her.
When her cousins made the decision to come to Tidewater, she followed along, but, can she truly survive this school? Or will she just fall into her old ways?
