Aaron smiled before placing a kiss on her lips, he pulled away quickly and grabbed her hand in his. "Alright, lets get this over with," He said as he walked up to the door. He knocked first before entering. "Hello? Mom, dad?" He called out as he smelled what was for dinner.

"Yes sir." Ciera followed after him and looked around the house curiously. "Aaron!" His mother walked out of the kitchen and smiled brightly, glad to see her baby boy. She was a sweet looking woman who was a little plump around the middle and wore simple jeans and a nice blue blouse with a frilly white and blue apron on over it, her brown hair swept up in a bun with a few pieces of hair framing her face. "It's so great to see you honey." She went and hugged him tightly then looked at Ciera and smiled softly. "And you must be Ciera."
Ciera smiled shyly and held out her hand. "It's nice to meet you Mrs. Deller."
"Psh, call me Brenda." She replied with a happy smile and ignored Ciera's hand, instead giving her a big hug.
Ciera blinked in surprise, but smiled and gently hugged Aaron's mom back.

Aaron smiled a big smile for his mom and hugged her, he was glad to see her honestly. He knew she would be on his side about things. "Yes, this is Ciera." He said introducing them to each other. He watched gladly as his mom embraced her like one of her own, he knew she wanted to have a daughter. It just wasn't possible.
"ATTENTION!" A booming voice called out from down the hall
Aaron stood at attention, he knew the drill and stood perfectly still. The moment had come for his father to meet his girl.
A tall man walked out from the hallway and stood in front of Aaron. He had the same hair and eyes as his son, but he was bit more muscular. He was wearing his uniform for the Army, even his dog tags hung around his neck.
"Salute Soldier!" He said saluting to Aaron, who in turn did the same. "At ease," He commanded then turned to Ciera, he placed his hands behind his back and looked her up and down. He didn't smile, didn't twitch, didn't seem fazed. He took one giant step towards her and held out his hand. "Mr. Deller."

Ciera watched in awe as Aaron responded to his father, not saying a word. His mother smiled a bit worriedly and stepped aside, letting it all happen.
"Hello sir, I'm Ciera Hollycross." She said, trying to not let her nerves get the best of her as she reached out and shook his hand, hoping her grip was strong enough.

Aaron could only watch as his father walked over to Ciera. He wasn't allowed to move until he was given permission, it could be awhile.
Micheal looked down at her puny hand shaking his and approved of the grip. "Nice hand shake, always a good sign." He said turning back from Ciera to Aaron. "You are free to roam soldier." He said before moving into the kitchen.
Aaron let out the breath he was holding and immediately went to Ciera to make sure she was okay. "Sorry... He is a bit... Intimidating."

Ciera stared after his father with wide eyes, watching as his mother followed after him. "No kidding..." She mumbled to Aaron, feeling like her heart was beating a mile a minute. How would she be able to last a whole night like this?

"Hey, if you want to leave now we can," Aaron said pulling her into a hug and squeezing her tightly. He was sure though that his father would call her a coward and no good for him so he hoped she wouldn't want to leave.

"No. We gotta stay." Ciera replied as she returned his hug, determined to get his dad to at least think of her decently. "We started this, so now we're gonna follow through with it."

Aaron nodded his head and placed an arm around her waist. "Lets see if they need help setting the table or cooking." He said leading her into the kitchen.
"Son, you know the rules." Micheal said, pointing at Aarons feet.
Aaron looked down. "Oh, right. Sorry about that sir." He said beginning to take off his shoes. "Sorry Ciera. It's a shoes at the door house rule." He said smiling at her as he collected his shoes to take back to the door.

Ciera followed after him, listening to his father and nodded. "My Mom has the same rules." She slipped off her shoes and looked up at Aaron.
Brenda looked at Micheal and couldn't help but roll her eyes. She could see Ciera was trying and so far, she was fairing a lot better than the girls her son had brought over from before and she hoped her husband could see that. She rested her small hand on his lower back and offered a small smile.

Aaron smiled, glad that it wasn't odd to take your shoes off at the door. He placed his pair on the ground before heading back with Ciera to the kitchen "Anything I can help with?" He asked.
Micheal felt Brenda's hand on his lower back and turned to face her. He knew he was being tough, but he felt he had to be. His son was returning to the real world after facing Juvie and he wanted everything to go smoothly, he felt a girlfriend wasn't needed right now to step in the way.

Ciera followed and set her shoes next to Aaron's, feeling a little awkward.
Brenda looked into Micheal's eyes knowingly and lightly squeezed his back before looking at Aaron and smiled softly. "Let's set the table Aaron." She let go of her husband and took Aaron's hand, leading him into the dining room and giving him the dishes and thus leaving Ciera with Micheal.
Ciera suddenly felt like a gazelle in the presence of a lion, but she straightened her posture and composed herself, wanting to do good for Aaron, but also for herself.

Aaron looked at Ciera and mouthed 'Sorry' to her before following after his mom to the dinning table and started setting up the place mats. "Dad is going to be his usual charming self isn't he," He jokingly asked her.
Micheal eyed Ciera curiously as he flipped the corn he was cooking in a pot on the stove. "Do you cook?" He asked her bluntly.

Brenda laughed softly and rolled her eyes. "You know how he is, he just wants the best for you...but he is a little thick headed and usually can't see the good in front of him. I practically had to force him into a date with me." She rolled her eyes as she helped Aaron.
Ciera nodded. "Yes sir, my mother is a sous chef at an Italian restaurant, so she makes sure to teach me the basics so I won't starve when I'm completely independent." She said, clasping her hands behind her and made sure that she was out of the way.

Aaron sighed "I wont become like him one day will I?" He asked, though he already knew he wouldn't. I would be nice to know that someone else agreed.
Micheal nodded his head, "Then you will be able to fix the garlic bread." He said as he moved from the stove to the other side of the giant kitchen and grabbed a loaf of French bread and the other ingredients needed.

Brenda laughed softly and affectionately patted Aaron on the top of his head. "Sweetheart, you're your own person, don't worry about becoming like your father. He's him and you're you. Besides, you're father isn't a bad guy, believe it or not he's up half the night worrying about you."
She nodded. "Yes sir, that was my Papa's favorite dish for dinner," she said with a small smile, "we make it all the time in his memory." As he got the ingredients she slowly approached.

Aaron chuckled and smiled, glad that she agreed he was his own person. "I know I know, but he doesn't have to honestly." He said placing the last plate on the table. "Looks good Ma," he said clapping his hands together.
Micheal nodded his head and laid the items out for her on the island. "I take it, your pa is no longer around then." He said as he went back to his job on the stove.

"Every parent worries about their child, no matter what." Brenda said with a smile, keeping her adoring gaze on Aaron. "It looks perfect." She said softly.
"No...he passed away when I was five." Ciera said, quickly busying herself with preparing the garlic bread so she wouldn't start crying. No matter how long it had been since his passing Ciera always choked up when she thought of her father, her mind flashing back to the accident.

Aaron nodded his head, he understood very well that parents worried all the time, they were worried after he went to juvie.
Micheal let the silence fall between the two before speaking. "I am very sorry about that," He said taking the pot of corn off the stove and moving quickly to the sink to dump the boiling water.

Brenda gently patted the top of his head. "You're just our little dumplin' that we want the best for."
Ciera closed her eyes then looked at Micheal. "Thank you sir...I'm doing my best to make my Papa proud, it makes me sad to know that he'll never be here, but I know that I can't be sad all the time. He'd want me to be strong and to bed happy, so I'm living the best that I can for him and my Mum."
