"Oh my, I am sorry," Whitney said suddenly feeling bad for asking. She did understand why her parents sent her away, seeing as she was sent away for a similar situation. "I was sent here for a sad reason too, though it's not as sad as yours." She added looking down at her black duffle not ready to unpack it just yet.

Yulia nodded. "Though I don't understand how this is going to help me."

Yulia looked back on the recently made famous Red Square Riot. She knew Alexi was going out for some pastries when it all started. Yulia wanted to run out and find him among the fists and bullets, but Vlad screamed at her to stay inside. Just because he was in the army, meant he could go looking for him? Alexi would only listen to her.
She remember Alexi being dragged in the house, a fistful of pills in his hand which Vlad failed to take before he swallowed them all. Yulia remember shaking him and screaming out his name while his pulse turned to stone.
"So what happened to you?"

Whitney looked up from her duffle bag and gave a small smile. "No one close to me died, but my best friend in the whole world... Moved to another country," She said knowing this wasn't as bad as Yulia's situation, but it still felt as if Haylie had died. "I mean it hurts that she had to leave." Whitney wanted to continue the sentence, but she was worried she would come off as some wimp.

"What country?" Yulia questioned.

"Her family moved to China, her dad got a better job there." Whitney said, she was suddenly reminded that she hadn't heard from her best friend in several weeks. No email, text, or phone call. Not even snail mail and that made Whitney even more sad.

"Oh." Yulia heard that breathing in the air in Bejing was the equivalent to smoking 27 cigarettes a day. "Now that is a strict country. People in China don't know how to have fun."

Whitney nodded her head, she had read up on China and their culture and was sure her best friend wouldn't enjoy her new life there, but she could always be wrong. "Yea, she said she wanted to try some of the things there like Karate and oragami or something." She said wishing she could remember what her friend was so excited about.

"I think oragami is Japanese."

"Oh, right," Whitney said blushing. She felt embarrassed for two reasons: The fact she got it wrong and the fact she couldn't remember what her friend had told her. "Anyways, she was excited to try a different country, but all I wanted was for her to stay with me." she continued, suddenly feeling selfish.

Yulia didn't have a BFF to leave behind, so she couldn't relate. "Well, if I did have any friends, I would miss them. I wanted Vlad to stay home with me so papa wouldn't boss me around so much."

"You didn't have any friends?" Whitney asked. She didn't know what that felt like, since she depended on her friend so much she couldn't imagine her whole life without her. "Who is Vlad? Your brother?" she asked sitting down on her bed and slowly unzipping the black duffel bag.

"Vlad is my brother. And no, I had no friends. Everyone made fun of me because I was very ugly once and I come back to school looking like this and they try to threaten me."

Whitney nodded her head and smiled, remembering her own brother. "Wow, people can be real jerks," She said shaking her head as she began pulling out her video games, setting them in neat piles by the console's they belong with along her bed.

"I heard this school has a blog that bullies everyone here."

"Really? That's going to solve the worlds problems," Whitney said sarcastically and rolling her eyes, then her face began to turn red, she hoped the blog didn't say anything about her. "They haven't said anything about you have they?" She asked with real concern but at the back of her mind she was still worried.

"I called them out for telling a pregnant girl to get an abortion and they told me to fuck off. Lovely people."

Whitney cringed at the thought of telling a pregnant girl to get an abortion, that was her choice in her opinion, not someone else's. "Wow, I don't feel like touching this blog at all," She said though she was tempted just to make sure she wasn't on it.

Whitney nodded her head. "Is there anything else more interesting in this school?" She asked wondering what activities she could diver herself into.
